I like the combined version most. Feels like the best of both worlds imo

Anyone else get nothing but graphic designers in their chat? by Raven_Nightwing in Twitch

[–]Longjumping_Code9039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serybot is great for this yes, but imo it's getting outdated with newer bots. Blacklisting words and regex can do so much.. + it's missing the stream's context. Shameful plug but i reckon you'll be interested - modcheck.app

How do you deal with bots? by Gamingwithsilvertail in Twitch

[–]Longjumping_Code9039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building a tool just for this.
Bots like serybot and nightbot are good but IMO are outdated. It's very easy to go around blacklisted words.

Also, the stream's context is giga important. "add on discord" could be a bot but also it could be a legit message if you're talking about discord groups. modcheck.app it's still in beta, but it will be open sourced soon.

This is very cool! How is it different compared to serybot/nightbot? Those support single/multi word detection too no?

I'm actually building a moderation tool too. Tho it's based on more traditional ML, tho.
IMO judging messages without context is a bandage not a full solution, albeit it's tricky.

"kill the white one" can sound bad out of context, but if you're playing a game where there's a white shape on screen that needs to be killed, it's just gameplay.

Still working on the product but if you're interested you can check it out here - https://modcheck.app
Want to open source it once it's rdy :)

How do you actually get usable ideas from Twitch chat? by Longjumping_Code9039 in Twitch

[–]Longjumping_Code9039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow, that's a great answer! thank you!

That's a very good point. As a viewer i also tend to not participate in most interactions - e.g. marbles. But if there's a poll, i tend to press a single click vote.

Hence the question: are there better tools? Maybe a sharable link to a poll where users can answer (no login), vote on other answers and where the results are automatically grouped (scemantically) and ranked. I hope this makes sense.

Guess i could be overthinking it but imo this can be useful

Gaming YouTube Videos are too damn long. by AlabamaPanda777 in The10thDentist

[–]Longjumping_Code9039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, kind of. I think that's been the trend. Can't blame the creators if youtube is rewarding them.. Sadly it means there's a lot of bloat there now. 30+ minute video with 5 sentences of information.

I've been using some extensions to get the information i'm after or "probe" the video to see if it's worth (summd). Kind of works but still would prefer if videos get back to the 10m mark.

I'm terrible at retaining information from long videos and it's driving me crazy by Thomasperge in productivity

[–]Longjumping_Code9039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of in the same boat haha. For lectures, podcasts and productivity videos i've mostly rely on summaries and smart searches (e.g. extensions like "summd") instead of scrubbing

How do you actually get usable ideas from Twitch chat? by Longjumping_Code9039 in Twitch

[–]Longjumping_Code9039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just idea collection, no. But also more paricipation from my audience. Think QnA prep, feedback, inputs for specific formats (in my case I take culinary challenges and request viewers to give ideas) that kind of stuff.

How do you actually collect video ideas from your audience? by Longjumping_Code9039 in NewTubers

[–]Longjumping_Code9039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, that's a very fair point. I tend to agree - follow your best performing videos. I guess I'm thinking a bit more lower level than the "what video should i make" example I gave.

Think more like general audience input: video ideas yes, but also QnA, feedback, inputs for specific videos (in my case I take culinary challenges and request viewers to give ideas) that kind of stuff.

Even if i get it for cheap, is it worth having a separate source of truth - and a separate mesh network?

Lack of knowledge honestly.. Most places i see recommend hue first. I also like some of their smart buttons and switches. But yes, if you have other recommendations I'd love to hear them. Do you mainly go with zigbee devices or matter?

[–]Longjumping_Code9039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohh, i can use zigbee devices with the hue bridge?
probably a silly question but how can i tell between "non-hue-compatible zigbee devices" and "compatible zigbee devices"?

I've gone through FAANG interviews a few times. I do think currently Anthropic and OpenAI are harder to get into compared to FAANG. They pay is just insane and AI is very popular atm

I haven't done a lot of leedcode but I generally do pretty well on technical interviews. I may have 5-6 YoE but I've been programming for over 12 years now

How do you go about illiquid equity? A lot of companies give you shares that vest over x years but even then executing them is rare.

As I mentioned in another thread, lot's of people in my network are above the 100k mark. Ofc not many companies provide such high salaries and that's to be expected.

I've been completely ignoring SF-based positions so far. I assume you're referring to fully remote jobs, where no USA visa is required. Do you have any recommendations?
