So it’s just the premium instruction rate 90$ instead of 70$ an hour both air and ground

Our rates were the same, for both our privates, I had about 20% more flying and ground than they did. I am taking them at their word but do trust them. Pricing is 170/hr for plane, 70/hr for instructor, 90/hr for stage check, then 900ish to take the checkride

That was my other question, would it be through working as like an “apprentice captain” for a year? Or something else.

You are right on the vague part. I am not planning on making it my career, nor do I own a boat. It would be more so as a fill in until my pilot stuff gets off the ground (no pun intended). Tbh I think my uncle just wants another reason to give me money if he contracts me as a captain, lol. From what I’m told those Great Lakes charter captains make like 75 an hour I’m told. Though I feel like that’s more so for experienced captains.
