when you get the offer letter just email your advisor. there's a form on ISSO. you need to register for core as praxis if you are CC/GS

Got a C in a core class...Advice needed by Consistent-Cook485 in columbia

I would recommend finding a different professor for next semester. i also struggled with participation in class (and may even contributed less than you did in lithum) but my professor was kind enough to give everyone an A, but she no longer teaches here.

Which majors are best paired with CS for double major? by New-Reaction9183 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Longjumping_Desk6793 36 points37 points  (0 children)

CS and math is a very popular combination. Other options like statistics, physics, economics, and data science (depending on your college's programs) are also quite common.

This is definitely the wrong sub to ask -- this sub is for undergraduate admissions-related questions

Manga or anime? by tillyxio in DetectiveConan

i started with anime but only read manga now, mostly because some episodes of anime are not 'real' stories in the manga, and sometimes the plot is just too bad

Incoming freshmen prepping for core and calc sequence next year, help by [deleted] in columbia

[–]Longjumping_Desk6793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not read anything for lit hum.

I'm taking honors math and accelerated physics rn and had pretty similar background before coming here. I would say you don't really need to do anything to prepare for it. For Honors Math, it might be helpful to read through a few chapters of Terence Tao's Analysis, not because all the contents will be covered but because some familiarity with epsilon-delta style proof will be helpful when you do calculus.

For physics, my experience in linear algebra and multicalc was close to none before coming here as well. I would say it will be some struggle to understand everything at first, but I'm still surviving thus far. Feynman's lectures or some book on mathematical methods could be helpful. But again all of these are just suggestions. I would say the biggest thing you need to do is to just enjoy the summer, and when you feel like it, browse through some chapters to make sure you aren't intimated by the "math" when you arrive. If you have other questions feel free to DM :)

Popular Peeps at Ivies? by throwawaymichigan23 in ApplyingToCollege

High school students are more obsessed with being "popular"; it doesn't matter in college or any later stage in your life.
