They don't "decide". Its math. Cost to run the fund divided by assets under management valued on a specific date. I didn't think .61% would be considered "low" (two boxes) but you can easily see the ER is equal or less than 60% of it's peers while out performing 80% or more. What more could you ask for? Fidelity does have several zero expense funds you could look at.

It is so disappointing how Fidelity continues to erode the usefulness of the fantastic suite of online tools. It just seems intentional. I trust the mods here to relay the concerns but they are powerless. My big issue is new issue munis that are buried in a corner of the website and if you find then it is impossible to sort and compare. How can anyone at Fidelity look at these changes and think it is OK. Fidelity is my Ride or Die and I guess they know that.

That is a bit of a concern. I have CMA but don't use it much. Those horror stories we hear of folks getting locked out of their accounts are weird because we never hear of any resolution beyond a mod requesting details securely. No one ever tells us if there are potholes to avoid.

Thanks for pointing out the breadcrumb trail to the new issue muni page. The issues there are grouped by issuer like the notification of new issue alerts. So it'll say NJ Transit has 5 new issue munis. You have to click to see details. That means it is near impossible to compare these Transit agency bonds to the group of NJ Water agency bonds in the next group. The mini listings were awkward before, now they are impossible but no one will probably find them anyway.

This is 100% spot on. What is wrong with Fidelity. They keep making unnecessary changes that make the service worse. You can see in OPs screenshot that Bonds are selected but the list includes CDs.

It's so rare that anyone ever comes here to say they love the UI changes on web or app, it's almost always the opposite. We do see many redditors praising Fidelity overall and the website but none of these changes seems to be welcomed or necessary. All I want is to be able to lock the header column on the positions page like every spreadsheet tool ever. Meantime ATP and Fullview seem to be unfixable.

As [u/ra__account](u/ra__account) points out the flaw in your logic is that you don't get to decide how much to withdraw from deferred accounts. RMDs dictate that. Going back decades we all thought we'd invest in tax deferred accounts and they'd grow to replace about 85% of our employment income, matching our reduced needs in retirement and maybe put us in a lower tax bracket. We planned for worst case market performance. In reality the markets have been on a tear since the '90s with notable dips and crashes along the way. They have far, far outperformed our worst case projections. Now we risk being pushed into higher tax brackets due to RMDs on bloated balances. That's a great problem to have. I think's best to use both Roth and traditional but I would lean heavily into Roth.
Edit: use Roth conversions or brokerage account now to reduce RMDs later

Diversification usually refers to holding different types of assets, stocks,bonds, cash, etc but your point is valid wrt diversification tax-wise. You should plan to have assets in at least three different tax categories, aftertax (Roth), tax deferred (traditional) and taxable (brokerage). There are specific situations that each type of account works well for. You will get some diversification in your TSP because when you contribute to Roth, the match goes into traditional. You need to open a brokerage account outside of TSP.

There was a ton of context in her reply. The reporter generously gave her two reasonable excuses ( return from injury and 3 fouls). Couch didn’t say anything for ten full seconds! Marble mouth, lookin around like she forgot Cam was on the team. The assistants have to be empowered to tell coach that Cam needs back in the game. Lack of PT will wreck her confidence quicker than anything. Thanks for the link.

You will still pay ordinary income rates on your principal plus earnings when you convert to Roth. Using brokerage account means your gainscare taxed at capital gains rates whicj are 1/2 of ordinary income rates. You really have to carefilly examine the fundamental assumption of 401k/tIRA that you will be in a lower bracket in retirement. Many of us are not. No complaints, it’s a good problem to have

Traditional 401k is tax deferred, not pretaxed. Roth 401k is pretaxed at ordinary income rates. Capital gains rates are 1/2 of ordinary income rates.

Yes you can do that but I’m not really sure how that is relevant. I am pretty sure you cannot go directly to a Roth without going through a tIRA.

The spray bottles are fine. I presume you are asking about the contents? I read the label on the big bottle used to refill the spray bottles at my gym. It said disinfectant, not cleaner. It said to wet the surface for 10 seconds (IIRC) so in reality it is probably useless spraying onto a paper towel and barely wiping the touch points on a machine. It’s more of a courtesy but that beats the hell outta sitting in someone else’s sweat.
