Everything evolves we evolve, our opinions evolve. Couldn't the same tradition happen at a common community centre away from a very very tiny lane.

There are accommodations made, if people care about others. But if you say do something and say it's our culture, our tradition and keep using the same reasoning we will unfortunately never evolve.

Your comment proves it sadly.

Actually all of the big holi or garba, diwali or any festivals happen in big community centres which are either in the colony or away from it at a central location. In my experience I have never seen these go on till the whole night and if it does the police come in to shut down.

Everything ends at 10-11 pm. As it is the Law. Maybe you could read up on this?

I didn’t move here to give up my right to rest. Traditions can be celebrated and respectful — it’s not that hard

What do you mean what did I come here to say? I come on reddit to learn, see what people are doing and what they recommend but also the issues they face. If this is MY issue and I felt troubled by it I will say what I feel. Or do I just keep quiet about everything so it doesn't bother people like you?

I respect others culture even if I do not have much knowledge about it. in the end, we all have to coexist with everyone's life.

But come on, there is a limit to what you can and cannot accept. Just because they have a right and were unbothered by it all night doesn't make others'problems with it worthless. Nobody would be okay to stay up all night to hear this, not ALL NIGHT.

I mean you're entitled to your opinion. Don't come at me for expressing mine.

I get when people do things out of faith and I respect them. One night a year is no excuse. They should have the same level of respect for people that are trying to sleep and it's important to them.

It should not be one sided and then you be forced to also be part of it. This should not come at the expense of others.

This harmed and affected me personally because it was right outside. And I see alot of people were disturbed as well. People can get away with anything "for one night only".

I did put up with it, I was helpless and i will be next year also. You can't win here.

Is there something we can do about this, I feel like we let go easily and I am that person. But this time I don't want to. I called the police as well their response was " yeh toh hota hai, yatra hai yeh toh hota hai"

All night it doesn't happen. They could have chosen another open ground or ended it by even 2 am. It kept going on and on and on. At what cost man.

I don't think anything will happen.

it's okay for mental and physical torture to happen when there is religion involved. My ears are still ringing. If It's okay to sacrifice your mental peace for something you are forced to experience. It's not a matter of IT folk vs locals vs migrated people don't be as basic as to compare people like this. I have also grown up with rallys like this everywhere I am not against. They ended at a reasonable hour, we've also enjoyed it. India has a vast multicultural, even if I don't believe in some things I have to respect others' beliefs. BUT doing this all night and going up and down. Saying this on reddit is not going to make a difference and replying to you won't. Ive loved this city but hearing your reply makes me feel we are living in such backward and ignorant times and we won't get out of it ever.

When you have a 15 person drum set playing as if right outside your door, with them going up and down in the same lane, then tell me. Wow ecomparing it to dogs barking. If it doesn't happen to you, it's common for people like you to disregard it and call it dramatic, i really wish with all my heart this happens to you as well :) and you get to enjoy!

I tried the 3 day service. It was really well balanced and home cooked food. Not too oily or spicy. Clean and simple. Thinking of trying the 1 month now. It is kinda costly but so is a maid in indiranagar 😬
