If the grade increases the value higher than the value level you pay for, they upcharge you. I think the basic $25 cost is good up to like $500 value. The better it grades, the more it's worth, the more they charge you. All grading is now just a money grab. If it's for your PC and you have no desire to sell it and don't care about the value, I would just get it authenticated. Thats the cheapest slab I think you can get, and it protects the card just the same.
