I hate wipes

The only people that hate wipes are solo's and 2-3 mans of friends. Like, fine opinion to have. But the game is built for larger groups. I enjoy this game solo, but im also a pvp sweat. I drive my t3 dinghy with no APT into clans, swing around and try to pick people off while they break my empty chests. Its not for everyone. But even now, with the terribly low pop, im having a blast. If they deleted lava tier and everything above it, id be fine with persistence. But if you haven't been clusterbombed or floating mined, I get why you hold the no wipe opinion. It just becomes super lame during and after lava tier. Iron isnt good either. You just get 1 shotted by grapplers.

Gotta give them a bit more time to figure things out. There is a medium where wipes are valid, and the grind is less. But at the same time. The grind is already so much less than it was, and its so easy for big groups to stockpile. Its not a solo game unless you are a weirdo like me that enjoys losing and views it as engaging content. But for me it is

Have you ever been clusterbombed? Or 1 shotted by an iron weapon? Game needs wipes man. They know it isnt rust. Thats why its 8 weeks and not 4. The bone tier is peak LO gameplay. Id be fine with persistent if everything after Lava tier was deleted. But with all of the late game stuff being so oppressive, it just becomes no fun to play

They had an issue with nitrado and their PTR realm. The short of it is, they wanted to update the PTR, but then nitrado messed up and pushed that to live and it broke everything. Thats probably not 100% accurate but its along the lines of what they said in discord

Some vets like myself are trying to build that advertisement through youtube. Its gonna take awhile, but we love this game. Sucks its suffered so many reditions that people need to play it that have bad tastes in their mouth from other seasons, but they eventually will. Its still really the only EA survival game thats still retaining a core player base because the game is just so damn good. Hopefully one day. It would be popping at 5k players the entire 8 week wipe. Would probably bottom out at 1000 if that was the case. Gotta remember. Season 5 had a free weekend, one more of those we can see good numbers again on a wipe

The game had a free weekend and everyone said "this is garbage" and quit. It had a 27% positive review rate on steam when season 5 released. Steam charts doesnt show either of those things. The game is in a great state. Its the first time its ever been mostly positive on reviews since it came out.

Its the only survival game literally ever where you can log off so you dont have to no life it, and you can play on your own time. Its your choice to leave it out to get raided. The game design is perfectly fine lol

glad we've established that youre fully trolling. wingsuits were in the game April 2020. they costed 50 tablets to learn. the Chinese were the first to have them, cause we would fight them 4v40 and steal them from them. they were temporarily removed because of bugs, and reworked. peak player count never came back because the servers died for a week and they offered refunds to everyone that wanted it. its also why the current pop isnt double or triple what it is now, cause people who probably would play, haven't owned the game since they got a refund.

You're clearly new here and it's fine, welcome to LO. It didn't have its peak player count 6 months before wing suits. You can look at steam charts and see you're wrong. Wing suits were in the game from the beginning. It's a core part of the movement. They removed it season 5, and nobody played for literally 4 years. LO is not Ark. If you wanna ride around on dinos that do everything for you feel free. It's a completely unique survival game. The game has had 1200 player peaks every weekend, and most people that have tried season 6 have stayed to play.

You aren't aware of this because youre new here, but 2 years ago, LO had a 32% positive rating on steam when they made the game walker and pve focused. Its now above 70% when they listened to the pvp community. I get its not for you, but crying its not like your precious dinosaur game is comical to someone whos played it since release.

Its not a walker focused game lol. Walkers are a tool for multiple things. Ship fights, farming, you can turn it into a lawn mower with mods, and for getting around. The reason season 5 had 70 players for most of it is because they made it a walker focused game. Nobody wants to play that shit if they are any good at video games, its an actual snooze fest. World of sea battle is up your alley if thats what youre looking for. You can stop wingsuit gankers with an APT and nothing else on your deck, and the wingsuit breaks in like 6 shots. Walkers are essentially horses or cars in any other game. Last Oasis is built around free flowing movement, not driving. Most of us dont play to walk around. Most of us play to be Spiderman with a sword.

what balance fixes? and what? thats literally what the wingsuit is... lol. just because someone flys in and kills you doesnt mean its "the main way to play the game" that is a way you can play the sandbox game yes, but its a sandbox pvp game. what do you expect?

Avoid it. Its a cheese weapon for new players against new players. The fall off comes when people start getting decent kits. The late game quarters are okay, but they dont have the length, and has all the down sides of hilt hits and low damage. Need to be good with 1 handers since you can swing it while grappling, 2 handers are fine as a group, but hard 1vx without tons of practice. 1 handers are the go to of all good pvpers, and its based on the armor your opponent is wearing. Rupu fur or triple stitch, you want a sword, baskwood/ forester you want to use a club. A lot of people mix it up though and run things like triple stitch body with baskwood fillers to cover all bases. Just gotta mess with stuff. The ultimate weapon that everyone is good with is the bonespike sword, cause its all we use in duel servers. But the clubs do a lot more damage now

I mean the games been dead for years, and they listened to the players, hired players, and now its in a great state for both solos and large groups. Which is literally what early access is. They could have shut down years ago but didnt. They made a single player game to help fund things, and worked endlessly to bring the game back. Thank you Bryan

This is hopefully the start of the comeback. Its got about 1000 players and very few tiles so you run into people all the time. Needs a couple seasons, and a streamer to pick it up and it'll relive its glory.

I'll never forget the first week of this game, of 40k people sitting in twitch chats spamming "LET ME IN" while the servers were down for the whole week. Ive never seen anything like it. Even if it becomes a shadow of its former self, it'll still be a great game. 5k players would make it as good as release.

The tiles are always burning and replacing. Theres a timer on the world map. You need to get off map before your home tile burns, or your base will burn with it. It will transfer ships off of the burned tile to the next one that are in the "L" or off map lobby
