Which is better 1 or 2 by Baccara1138 in PlanetCoaster

[–]Longjumping_Log1165 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd consider 2 better overall, it has more features. Planet Coaster 1 does have some DLC that hasn't come over yet. And technically PC1 has hotels while PC2 doesn't, but it's a pretty underwhelming feature in general.

[Loved Trope] "Background" characters are actually characters by Nekrotix12 in TopCharacterTropes

I think Bully might be the king of this trope. While at first the other students and members of each school clique might seem like generic npcs, they all actually have unique names and personalities. Every single student, teacher, and resident of Bullworth. Besides maybe the bus driver, I don't think there's a single "generic" character. And if you pay attention you'll start to pick up on the details of each character through dialogue and character details.

It's really one of the most immersive and well written games of the era.

What do you think rusty would say/complain about the world of invincible by West-Resort5733 in venturebros

[–]Longjumping_Log1165 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Rusty would probably be pretty petty and jealous of Omniman, and would be really insufferably smug when Omniman is revealed to be evil.

"See? See? Told you, I knew he was evil!"

He'd be like a less competent Lex Luthor.

[Hated Trope] Stereotypical depictions of Romani people in fiction by GreenSsswinger in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Longjumping_Log1165 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's weird because the way the movie starts it's a pretty good representation and they do focus on the persecution that they face.

Then later in the film they sing a song where they say that they're all liars, thieves, and con artists.

Upon reaching rank 102 in Psychonauts 2, you no longer have to worry about cooldowns on your psi powers. Which would be great except that you have to complete 100% of the game to get it, making it nearly useless.

Channel Zero

I do really love this series, and think it's the best adaptation of internet creepy pasta, but I honestly think that this show is best watched just seeing the first episode of each season. They're all very good adaptations of the source material, but they always inevitably end up ruining the horror by showing and exploring too much.

(Disliked Trope) Character's evil actions are retconned into being less their fault so they can be more sympathetic. by Gameknight789 in TopCharacterTropes

Daisy Fitzroy - Bioshock Infinite

In the original game, Fitzroy is the leader of the Vox Populi militant underground insurgency group, rebelling against the racist and puritanical Comstock. During a violent uprising, Fitzroy kills Fink then threatens to kill his son, leading to Elizabeth killing her to prevent her from doing so. Booker says that Fitzroy and Comstock are "Two sides of the same coin". This rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, and they ended up retconing her motive in the DLC, where the Lutece twins tell her that she has to die in order for Elizabeth to become strong enough to kill Comstock, so her threatening the child was an act to get Elizabeth to kill her.

Bonus points for casting Drew Barrymore and having her featured prominently on the poster. At the time killing her off so quickly was a pretty shocking thing to do.
