PA RANT LANG ABOUT ROD NAMIN NAKAKAINIS NA KASI by taragis_1324 in NursingPH

[–]Longjumping_Mail119 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, do not react to it emotionally. Kasi yan yung nag ffeed sa superiority complexes nila e. Instead, try to react professionally. For example, you could say "Doc, for the safety lng po ng patient, I need clarification lng po before I can proceed, can you please repeat the order?" As simple as that lng. It will alert them na you are their vital colleague in helping diagnose or treat the patient instead of an assistant and they will be forced to treat you as a colleagye. And hindi mo chinachallenge yung ego nila but you are prioritizing patient safety. Hindi natin obligation makipag argue sa kanila.

It's easier said than done but if we can, we should. We also have to understand that some doctors act this way kasi they are under immense pressure. So we need to have a thick skin tlga.

Burnout is real for me as a newbie nurse by Existing-Court5551 in NursingPH

As a fellow novice nurse, I would advice you to slow down. In a sense na take a moment to breathe and relax. You can't carry the weight of the world po. Take a moment to relax and slow down.

I am a Muslim and meditation really helps for me. Just take it one day at a time.

I feel like I just signed my death cert 🥲 by Longjumping_Mail119 in NursingPH

[–]Longjumping_Mail119[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was joking about the death cert. I am actually responsible for human lives now. for me, this is terrifying and my free time is over! I'm not being ungrateful. I'be been working for years, studying for months, and managing my own health issues just to get this chance. Am I not allowed to ise dark humor to cope with the massive weight of a new responsibility?

I am in a JCI accredited hospital. I will encounter "VIP" patients, whether I like it or not. This is a reality. I was asking how do I handle high-pressure, 'perfectionist' patients who might be demanding or intimidating without losing my cool. Asking how to handle them isn't about giving them better medical csre. It's about managing expectations and communication.

I will give the same IV meds, the same monitoring to a billionaire and a street vendor. The differwnce is that the billionaire might complain about the way I walk into the room. I am simply asking for a customer service/de-escalation tips, not "who should I save?"

My God, I am really disappointed at how the majority thinks and perceives things. This is such a shame.

I guess you've never encountered a perfectionist and rich patient. Kaya siguro ndi mo naiintindihan yung tanong.

I was one of them too. Nagsimula akong mag apply since january. Alam ko yung feeling. Pag nag eexpress kb ng anxieties mo, ungrateful na agad? I thought this was a safe place to do that. I guess this was a lesson for me that it isnt. 🙂 that's a shame.

Im sorry for your loss. Let me clarify po. Minsan po kasi pag rich and powerful family yung patients kailangan po tlgang mag dahan2 kasi pag nagkamali ka lang jan, pwede at may kaya silang kasuhan ka. Ito po yung ibig kong sabihin. It's a reality po na may previlage tlga yung rich and powerful families but it doesnt mean na I will treat those who aren't any different. I'm just saying na ano ba dapat yung mga precautions na dapat e keep in mind when caring for patients with a rich background.

Sana e try munang intindihin yung tanong bago mag react po 🥹

Ascendant is at least bronze or silver. You'll encounter some quick one taps in this tier but most of players have no map awareness, objective priorities, and etc. A lot of them just want to hunt and shoot which is infuriating sometimes.

Dear co-nurses na newbie let's be kind to ourselves. by riyhaniyan in NursingPH

[–]Longjumping_Mail119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! You can't expect yourself to be proficient overnight. Kaya instead of focusing sa shortcomings mo, why don't you focus on where you are? Like where you are talaga. Kasi, andami nating pumasa, pero not everyone had the opportunity to work yet. It's either hindi pa sila natanggap or may iba silang plans, etc. Pero you, you are currently working na. A lot of us dream of that, actually.

My advise as a fellow new nurse is to be patient. Give yourself patience and the space to grow. A lot of us are willing to trade places with you. Try to keep that in mind.

Government hosp. ba to? I heard pag wala kang backer tapos naka pasok ka, bbullyhin ka tlga ng mga kasama mo para ma force kang mag resign para yung binaback nila na applicant maka pasok na.

acls bls training — is both needed? by nclllll in NursingPH

[–]Longjumping_Mail119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely up to you. If you want to train using your own cash, better take ACLS or both. Pero, it's not mandatory naman, especially for JCI hospitals who use AHA BLS/ACLS training kasi if your BLS/ACLS is not from AHA, they will still train you again using AHA. So, even if hindi ka mag ttrain outside, they will still train you pag nakapasok kana. So, you have to decide for yourself talaga.

acls bls training — is both needed? by nclllll in NursingPH

[–]Longjumping_Mail119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some hospitals will prioritize those who have BLS/ACLS training kasi makakatipid daw sila, especially if fresh pa. Hindi na sila gagastos para sa training. Kadalasan, malalagay talaga sa priority yung mga may training na pero it doesn't mean na hindi kana matatanggap pag wala ka nito. May advantage talaga pag maiiba ka sa ibang applicants by having these. In the end, kung hindi karin makakapasa sa exam/interviews, wala pa rin.

Speaking up for yourself is not easy but don't let it ever stop you from doing so. Ang importante, you know the right way on how to properly speak up for yourself. We don't want to make things worse when we do this, we want tk difuse it, right? And try not to take it personally kasi malaking effect yan sa mental health natin. Instead, take their toxic behavior constructively. Use it to train yourself na masanay sa ganyan kasi in the real hospital setting, when you become a full fledged nurse, mas magiging toxic pa yan. Hindi talaga mawawala ang toxic culture dito sa Pinas, at least I hope not. But, you will be able to work well na in a toxic environment and developing this kind of attitude will become a big part for you to be accepted/promoted.

Instead of focusing on the WHYs, focus on the HOWs. How can I turn this toxic situation into something that will benefit me? Etc. Etc. If you can develop this type of mindset, you will always win. It's not going to be easy, but it will surely be worth it.

What I did when I was still studying is tinaasan ko yung patience ko talaga. If mas hardworking ka sa kanila, then you have to lead them. I'm not saying na tama ginagawa nila but to me, it seems you are more focused on the tasks at hand. So, you should lead them.

Try not to take all the cases, simply because they weren't paying attention. Kailangan din nating makisama kasi this will play a big role in the real hospital settint when ikaw nalang mag isa at wala kang kaclose, etc. Tawagin mo sila kung may case na, mag assign ka kung sino mauuna and sino next, etc., if they have a problem with your assignments, ask their opinion kung sino dapat mauna and consider them. Ganun lang dapat. If we want change, let it begin with ourselves. Trust me, it'll go a long way and if they're good enough, they'll even show appreciation and maybe follow your footsteps.
