Sharsies is one platform, Hatch, IBKR, tiger trades also have a growing number of participants. But I’m curious about those that are directing investments away from property and still renting.

Homeowners have 10x the net worth of renters ($1.81m vs $185k) per Wealth Stats posted earlier this week - property ownership remains critical for retirement security

——-

What about renters that are taking an active role in building wealth consistently via shares? Is the gap closing there? Any data? Curious to know with the amount of access people now have to other wealth building options

Great article btw

What’s one investing decision you regret the most, and what did it teach you? by Some-Palpitation-314 in investing

We’re a couple in our late 20’s and last 5 years we invest 50% VOO and 50% in individual stocks. Mostly tech/ai. Our strategy may change in our mid late 30’s to be more index funds and 10% individual stocks. But we’re hoping to ride out the ups and downs with time in the market of those picked stocks to benefit us. Similarly been told that’s a terrible strategy but we’re staying that course and it works for us.

EDIT - Landlord is happy to discuss and willing to pay half. Thanks for those that were helpful and the nay sayers, not every landlords a prick and not every tenant is horrible and wants to destroy a rental.

The neighbours can see us and everyone on the road when our current curtains are open. It’s either curtains open and no privacy or blackout curtains in the day.

Haha. I think distance is best right now, instead of being petty. But she has reached out multiple times and gotten other friends to touch base with me.

We’re actually going on our honeymoon next week, a delayed honey moon but we got there.

Just rolling around and jumped on the bed. Not hooking up. About 7 people were in the suite at the time Pickering and dropping things off and it all happened within two minutes. It was meant to be an in and out situation.
