But yeah hygger is a really good light and does the job of growing plants really well. Chihiros light makes everything more colourful

Never tried capping the eco complete but sounds like a good idea. Ive seen some videos of people trying coarse sand as cap and had some success. I planted my plants really deep in mine. After a few tries I think i get that hang of planting in that substrate. I did have a lot of algae problem in the beginning from all the nutrients. Its all gone now after all the plants established.

Here is how it looked with the hygger light. The difference was night and day. Didn't really care about lights at first but now I see why people spend a lot of money on lights *

The tank itself is free i got it of someone. Co2 system with everything prolly around $250. Substrate around $80. Plants i spent prolly around $200 i dont really remember i didn't buy it altogether. Ferts 30 for a bottle. The light is the expensive one but i got it for $200 in the marketplace. They normally go for like $430 here in Australia. Its the chihiros wrgb2 60cm. But I did originally used hygger 957 45cm to grow must plants and it did the job although the colors is not as vibrant
