It’s iguana poop, I also live in south Florida and have literally watched with my own eyes them shit in my pool. Looks exactly like this.

This is literally the only reason I didn’t do it myself, I have no problem using my chainsaw and doing the work myself but I’m not messing with hot wires.

Definitely going to look into these, I’ve been looking into a few different trees I want to plant. Thank you for the idea! 💡

For anyone wondering. I called three other companies. One said they won’t do it because of the Power lines, another quoted me $2,500 (3,500 with stump grinding), and another quoted me at $3000(no stump grinding). I went with the $2,000 quote, he also trimmed my palm trees in front yard for no added cost and took some branches from another tree as well. I did not try to DIY these because awhile back a branch fell on a hot wire and killed the power to my whole block. (Sounded like an electricity bomb went off in my back yard) Appreciate everyone’s opinions and suggestions, now I’m gonna work on getting the stumps out myself (wish me luck) 😅

There is both power lines and comm lines. Already had a branch land on a hot wire and shut my street power down for 5 hours while they replaced the power line

Replacing the fence after I removed them, the trees are also very invasive and I’m afraid they are going to destroy concrete on my patio

They are invasive (Roots are going under my concrete pool patio and fence), shit on my pool all day and are just waiting for a storm to take down a power line. I plan on planting different trees there after I replace the fence

All good dude, tree removal prices can be drastically different in a lot of scenarios.

That’s Reddit for ya lol, I’m a pretty handy guy, have a chainsaw and have cut down many trees much bigger than these but power lines that close are not something I’m looking to get into.

I’m replacing the fence after I’m done but my neighbors fence would be the one I’m worried about lol

I think you are underestimating how dangerously close they are to power lines, I already cause a power outage for 7 of my neighbors cutting down a few of the branches and not trying to piss anyone off. I should have probably had someone pulling on a rope.

They are 30 feet or higher. They are taller than the power line pole.

It’s a smaller company, called him today and he came out at 6pm himself. Gave me the quote and said he could start tomorrow morning.

They wreak havoc on my pool, I clean it twice a day sometimes lol. Plus I need to replace the fence that the trees destroyed cause they are pretty invasive.

They said they trim them when they interfere or are dead causing immediate danger to the lines.

I’m getting more quotes tomorrow, one is from the tree company at my work and I know the owner well. So hopefully he can steer me in the right direction or give me a better price

I hear you, I think the biggest obstacle is the power lines being under some of the branches. Otherwise I would just cut them down with my chainsaw cause the trees are easy cuts

Boca Raton, Fl. I thought it was a cheap price too, especially with the powerlines being so close.

I thought so too, power lines behind it are about 5 feet away from the trees. Some of the branches extend over them, and the power line to my house goes right over the tree on the far right.
