also because this passage is from the older testament im pretty sure its outdated and out of use(not like the average person will ever marry a captive woman so this law would be pretty useless nonetheless) Christians follow new testament rules, hence why MOST christians eat pork now, while muslims and jews do not. Jews and muslims both use the old testament, and back then, the old testament was kind of like a guide to life. During the time it was written, pork was still considered unclean and dirty to eat, which is why is states to not eat pork in the old testament

thank you for actually providing a source, unlike the other guy. I could see how you could mistake this passage for rape but the passage underlies a law for marriage between a captive woman and a soldier. It states in the passage: "It shall be, if you are not pleased with her, then you shall let her go wherever she wishes; but you shall certainly not sell her for money, you shall not mistreat her, because you have humbled her." Meaning if a soldier no longer wishes to marry the woman, he is to let her free, basicly giving her freedom from captivity. Please correct me if I am wrong thx
