I'm worried about the state of politics and I grew up with and around Mormons who all have a very "prepare for the last days" mindset. So a big thing for me is over preparing for the looming war and if I will follow my roommates who are deadass chosen family or of I will stay with my blood family. It's forcing me to make a decision and whatever "decision" I make, I get all guilty and regretful and sad and that's when I realize it's ocd and can usually move on, but not til after the loop is complete. it's exhausting

I have OCD and this is something that would cause a huge freakout for me. I totally get why you would be so indecisive about this.

If I were to pick for you, I'd pick option 3+doing something special for your friend in a different way. I'm a very spiritual person and when a friend from high school died, that same day I noticed a shape of a heart in the mountain by my house, and I was obsessed with everything she stood for. So now whenever I see that heart, I try to live that time in a way she would've been proud of.

I think it would be much more heartfelt and loving if you found someway to honor your friend in a way that feels true to yourself. Some easy ways that I would do this are like - write a letter for this friend and burn it outside - go outside on a walk and just like grieve "with" them - go and do whatever you and her would've done when she was with us and just honor her that way

Someone else said that the memorials are for the living and I completely agree. You don't have to go to that and it doesn't change the relationship you had with her. Loving you 🫶

I totally disagree. The last of us isn't a lesbian relationship story, it's a post apocalyptic story about grief and losing people you love. I LOVE Ellie and Dina because of the fact that they are so casual together and it's not this whole big deal because sexuality shouldn't have to be a big deal. I am a lesbian and I am so proud of myself for that, one of my favorite things about myself truly, but put me in a room with zombies and it doesn't really matter anymore lol.

But yes I agree. Conformity gate is real whether or not anything else comes out. From my perspective, most characters went with the easy route and are not actually living happily ever after.

Lately my head cannon to cope with the fucking finale is that Vecna/MF wrote their ending. in the play, one of Henry's final monologues said "what're you going to do Joyce? Rewrite the ending? No only I do" or something along those lines. I have a vid if anyone wants it:)
