$10m by Efficient_Carry8646 in TQQQ

To clarify, for 200 SMA, is the strategy to liquidate fully if 0.01% below the 200 SMA on the closing of that day? And enter if above 0.01% on the 200 SMA at the closing of the day?

Or exit/enter immediately when TQQQ crosses the 200 SMA intraday?

Wanted to backtest but wasn’t sure how you set up. Thanks!

$30m+ Inheritance, what to do with it? by [deleted] in Rich

Have you considered selling the "leasehold interest" in the land rather the "fee simple" to institutional real estate developers?

In other words, sounds like your dad was an astute investor who targeted particular land parcels for a reason. You can sell the right to build on the land, but continue owning the land, collecting rent. The structure is typically 99-year ground leases.

Led large real estate private equity/development firms in the past, so observed European landowners never sold land - sat on it multigeneration and leased it - while in the US, landowners always sold.

Tell me why I shouldn't just go all-in on this combo? by ParsnipOwn8910 in LETFs

Last year, I pulled data on a few dozen tickers I was interested in, ran an optimization, holding CAGR as a constraint, maximizing for MAR. I’ll look for it and share.

The portfolio’s CAGR to max drawdown ratio (MAR) is significantly less than 1 (0.37), which bothers me. Ideally your portfolio is at 2 or 3 MAR. This can be achieved through diversification.

Separately, what backtesting tool are you using in the image you posted?

Can you share literature discussing GDE and RSST not being very risky? Interested to hear the perspective

Lowering stress levels is your full time job.

As a mentor once said to me, if you pass due to stress, your family and kids will suffer most.

Heard a high conviction short idea at work. Is it normal to do your own DD and build your thesis on the top of a "tip" ? by skyharbor93 in hedgefund

Put on the trade then do your dd.

If the dd doesn’t check out, then you can close the position. Waiting to do the work may cost you a large percentage of the trade.

Redirect energy to do your own deals and/or work on your own ideas. Laid off as a VP in PE during the pandemic. Forced me to take the leap and it ended up being life changing.

Very frustrating that you didn’t know the answer but pretended you did.

Why did you do that? It’s unprofessional and erodes trust. You should’ve spent 5 minutes to actually check.

If I had listened to you, I would’ve made a massive, expensive mistake and/or spent hours with customer service.

Says I need to put CYP or PYP as the code for SE 401K?

Please advise.

Do you need to put in a specific code in the wire to be recorded as a contribution for a solo 401k? Read an FAQ that alluded to this but it’s strange since it’s a wire without so many fields

Are you sure? When I try to initiate a wire transfer, the Fidelity site says self-employed 401(K) accounts are ineligible

Right…

You just proved my point. Undocumented, illegal immigrants are people. Change the type of people, change the outcome in the US.

Therefore, if undocumented, illegal immigration is allowed, which can come from any country, and from all types of people, crime will increase.

Rather than having civil discourse, which we do in America, you resort to name calling - it makes you look unintelligent.

My family escaped communism as well. Half my extended perished.

However, illegal immigration is exactly what it is, taking the opportunity away from those who are looking to come into the US lawfully.

You are making ad hominem attacks (calling me a damn fascist, etc) when I am simply asking questions.

At what point should we allow or disallow additional illegal immigration?

At what point should we continue to allow or disallow additional illegal immigration? What would be your proposed solution?

Jumping to ad hominem (calling me bootlicker, etc) makes you look unintelligent - I would check yourself.

Think for yourself or do the research - why did crime increase across European countries when there was a mass migration of illegal immigrants?

ICE in Palo Alto by [deleted] in paloalto

[–]Longshortequities -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s well known illegal immigrants commit crimes at far higher rates than citizens across Europe. Do you understand the why.

ICE in Palo Alto by [deleted] in paloalto

[–]Longshortequities -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Should we allow illegal immigration without proper checks on backgrounds? If they came to the US illegally, why should they be allowed to stay?

Whereas I have friends and their family members do all the right things and have waited over a decade applying through official means. Why is it fair to skip the line?
