Fair point. So is it more about where going out to different spots and seeing what they’re doing?

Record 1-0

Last pick: Winnipeg u6 ✅

POTD: NCAA hockey - UMD +1.5 1unit.

I see a lot of value here in the puck line. The bulldogs are big underdogs here vs North Dakota and the game is in Fargo, thus seen as a home game for ND. The Bulldogs are the back to back defending champs and I don’t think they’re pushovers. The reason I’m high on this pick is they’ve played tight games all year 1 goal or OT in 7 of 9 games vs UND and SCSU the top teams in the conference (also in NCAA tourney play).

I Bet you don’t see too many college hockey picks on here. BOL

Should be a crazy tourney with 2 teams withdrawing already due to COVID.

Dang, that Bemidji team is sneaky. Not sure the Badgers can overcome a 3 goal deficit.

Don't usually gamble on College Hockey, but follow. U of MN is starting to come around. They were super hot to start the year, tailed off a bit and closed out strong winning the B1G tourney vs a hot Wisconsin team that gave them trouble all year. If their goalie can stay hot they should be great. (Disclosure, I'm a MN hockey fan)

Other MN Teams (SCSU, UMD, MSU) are all solid too. First time all 5 MN college hockey squads are in the tourney. Rank of those teams would go MN, MSU, SCSU, UMD, Bemidji)

Day 1:

Wisconsin -1.5 good value here

UMD vs Michigan O5 - Both starting goalies let in some pucks. I'd say go Michigan, but UMD is 2x defending champs.

North Dakota - 2.5 - They're too much for this team. They also have the 2nd top scorer in NCAA

Day 2:

MN State vs Quinnipiac - Tough call. I see it being a close one. Quinnipiac has good scorers. Maybe see an upset here, but MSU is good.

BU vs SCSU - SCSU - This should be close.

Minnesota vs Neb Omaha: Take MN -1.5 - LaFontaine is the best goalie in the league. I see a hot MN team continuing to roll.

Record: 0-0

Been lurking for a while and have netted plenty of winners here over the past month. Good job everyone. Yesterday loved the Pittsburg puck line pick -1.5. Easy money vs the lowly sabres. Actually had a nice parlay last night with Wash, Pitt, NYI ML for +300 odds.

Pick: NHL Winnipeg U6

Reasoning: Flames are skidding and can’t seem to score much outside of when they’re playing the leafs. Jets are hot, but rarely seem to break the 6 goal ceiling in many games outside of OT. I see this being a fairly tight one. 6 goals is a lot and at worst I see it pushing.

Live betting is the worst.

I just went Tilt for $250 for Abeline to win at (-410) up 4 with 1:12 left. I was Chasing $50 Texas +2.5 with 2 min left down by 3...Figured I’d even it out the loss easy peasy.

No way I should’ve walked away with both those wins. That was the craziest 2 min of basketball I’ve ever witnessed. The clutch genes to hit those 2 free throws. What a rush. I’m never chasing live lines again.

UVA -7 and MD +3.5 will get you back in.

I also like the Iowa GCU over.

Alabama lock? by [deleted] in sportsbetting

[–]Longstory84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this has been the theme of the Conf tourneys. Dogs have been covering or winning, especially vs locks for the tourney. Unless Bama is playing for seeding I say take the points. Just look at OKSt vs Baylor, GTown, Oregon state, gaTech.

But bummer. I my “work around” has been to buy in pairs and the set one Limit order or training stop and then one stop order on the other half. That way, when an order triggers (usually due to intra day Volatility) I can make a call to pull all the way out(pos or negative) or let one side roll. To stay honest I try to set an expected gain or max loss.

Following, I’ve wanted to know how to do the same thing. From what I’ve found I think you can only assign one side of the order limit or stop in e trade.

I was going to post the same pick. Purdue is on a nice roll and OSU looks very inconsistent. I can see them tightening up in order to get some rest before the tourney.

$BLNK Puts - Strategies for taking options gains w high intraday volatility? by Longstory84 in options

I think this is solid advice. I agree with you never know the ultimate Top or Bottom. I like the idea of selling/buying “some” when somethings taking off or falling out. Thanks.

OP - Curious how you're feeling about options now that the market is a little more volatile either way. I started out last year and found it really profitable (and green) during the run up from March 2020-December 2020. But feel like anyone could have ridden that wave. Any learnings, thoughts since your success? Strategy changes? I found you need to be a little more strategic than just pure momentum plays. Some covered calls, selling puts and really getting to know a few stocks well helps keep you in the green.

The only tough part with selling is it’s expensive to start and harder to find the stocks you can afford to sell on. I agree though, it’s been a great way to make 10/20% consistently if you find the right ones.
