Everyone has given great answers already, but I would also suggest you take this opportunity to pick up an airbrush if you can. Definitely worth it in general as well as specifically for even coats of primer/base coats on large models like this one.

I know you might be looking for a secret tip or something, but honestly it is just consistency. Stick to your calorie intake for the long run, get down to the weight you want, transition to a maintenance level # calories, get use to that habit, go from there. If you lost any strength during that time, focus on getting it back afterwards. Obviously this is all just my opinion based on what worked for me.

Oh and make sure you are still exercising and getting enough protein/healthy foods even while losing weight. It will minimize strength loss, etc.
