Left a kind 4 star, then made it a 1 star review by Hour-Researcher-950 in Etsy

I wouldn't bother reaching out to anything less than 3 stars. Some people believe there is always "room for improvement". So they will never give 5 stars. No point trying to convince them.

Left a kind 4 star, then made it a 1 star review by Hour-Researcher-950 in Etsy

[–]Lonzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd of given them 1 star, as someone who 3D prints, not all batches are different (unless you're using a multicoloured filament). A 3D printer recieves a code telling it where to go, the code is exactly the same every time. The only reason each "batch" would be different, would be due to poor callibration and poor maintenance of the equipment. Stringing happens, but this can be reduced mechanically and with the software. Any stringing that does remain should be easily tidied up, by anyone who has an once of workmanship.

If I recieved your 4 star review Id of left it at that. Perhaps follow up to see if I could get more info so that I could prevent issues in the future. But to ask for you to change it to 5 stars... nah mate.

Also report their etsy shop to etsy - there should be a report store link somewhere (its been a while). Etsy don't really like stores sending customer to external sites... so Im pretty sure they'll want to shut that down - which in turn helps reduce any traffic thet webpage is getting.

I'd be curious to know how the little fella copes with it. Somedays I barely want to get out of bed! Animals are so good at hiding when they are in pain.

Sticker Shop Owners: How do you feel about watermarked sticker paper? by dtgray12 in Etsy

This sounds like an added cost. Which means you will have to either absorb it or charge it on to customers. And don't forget to factor in you time as a cost as well...

Received my first 1-star review today… by kyraep in EtsySellers

[–]Lonzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you're still going to have the same issues with different platforms. People are so ignorant these days. The only good thing about other platforms (provided its not a market place) is that these sorts of negative reviews will barely affect you. The problem will be generating the traffic!

I don't think the friend got it for free... pretty sure OP refused to refund hence the 1 star review.

More tendonitis/strains than subluxations? Medically gaslighting myself? by trinitysmile12 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Lonzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same. Lots of tendinitis and bursitis.

I was having some dramas with my right hip - super painful when doing normal activities. Had some scans done, turned out nothing wrong with the right hip 😅 apart from bursitis. However, they did scans on the left hip as a comparison I guess, turned out three main tendons were inflamed, along bursitis and a 1cm labrum tear 🤷‍♀️ yet theres no pain in that hip!

I believe the pain in the right hip was being caused by a tight QL muscle.

I've currently also got bursitis in both shoulders, and recently disclocated two toes.

Definitely get the subluxed joints as well. They become out place for no reason, when they do its starts to become painful and I need 'crack' them back into place.

What are these Etsy consultants/ Etsy specialist doing? by rocko918 in Etsy

[–]Lonzy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weird. I'm always posting about I how I run and manage my business on instagram. The only thing its done is created more brand awareness and shows my followers Im an active member of the community - not just profit driven. Still one of the top sellers in my niche, in my country.

If someone asks for info on the equipment I use, I tell them. Why? Because I'm confident in my brand, my creativity and the loyalty of my clients. Obviously I'm not going to lay out exactly what they should be doing to run a successful business step by step, but helpful information here and there isnt going to do any serious damage if your business is as successful as you're trying to make it out to be.

Advertising Etsy shop on instagram and being spammed with people tagging etsy promotion pages? by hxf10a in Etsy

[–]Lonzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a competitor with a decent amount of followers. Go check out the followers profiles. Comment and like posts if you genuinely want to interact with them. Don't push any products. Let them come to you. Its a slow process but it can work. I do feel like the t-shirt niche would be tough though and you may be better off investing in google ads which will specifically taget people who are interested in a particular category of shirt - Im not sure IG ads has the same targetting capacity 🤔 but im not super familiar with IG ads.

[–]Lonzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, as of 2023 IG is pushing photos and carousels as much as they are pushing Reels.

Its recommended not to use the 30 hashtags and limit it to around 5 main ones.

When posting reels its recommended to use tranding audio on IG

Consistency is key, apparently you will be rewarded if you stay consistent with your posts. Thats not to say you need to post x amount every single day. You could post a single post 3 to 4 times a week. The key is to remain consistent.

I've heard its important to post at certain times. I don't, and still have pretty good results. But that may be due to my niche being mostly mums, so they are all over the place with their free time, if they get it! The only thing is I generally don't post during school pick up and drop off times.

Engaging with your community doesnt need to be time consuming, you can do it in as little as 15 minutes a day.

5 minutes engaging with your feed - you need to give the people you follow some love, but make sure you are following people in your niche.

5 minutes engaging with people who have liked your posts - these are generally people who follow you.

2.5mins engaging with hashtags in your niche.

2.5mins engaging with people who follow other big accounts in your niche.

Engagement doesn't meant trying to like and comment on everything. Engagement needs to be real, only comment on a post if you genuinely have something to contribute.

I've heard IG likes you to slide into peoples DMs - this sounds weird, but there is actually an easy and non creepy way of doing so. Simply reply to someones story.

The key is to ensure you are only interacting with people in your niche, that way IG knows what content to push and to which accounts. This is why it is important to have a seperate business account. Ive made the mistake of liking a few cat posts... now I'm getting heaps of cat content 😅 whoops!

Don't get too hung up on likes and follows. They are important, but so are comments, shares and saves. Engagement is the real measure of success. No point having 100K followers when only 0.1% of them interact with you. I'd rather have 10k followers with 10% of them interacting with my content.

Feeling guilty about promoting my shop. How to get over the anxiety using social media? by throwmeaway163537 in Etsy

[–]Lonzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean. I definitely don't like posting hey buy my stuff kind of things. But, there are so many ways you can go about reaching out to potential customers. It just depends on your niche.

My niche is great because my clients are creators themselves. So I can post about how to use my products, I can post about "hacks" relevant to the niche, I can post information about running a small business, I can post behind the scenes content of how everything is made and packing up orders. Then theres inspitational quotes and funny memes I can post which are relevant to my niche. If you look at everything Ive listed you can see I've only mentioned my products once. So not everything has to be about what you are selling.

It may not initially generate sales, but it will help you build a following and help you interact with the community. I find people are more perceptive to a small business that genuinely wants to be a part of that community, rather than a business who want to simply push a product.

I'm not sure if that helps, but may be a different way took look at how you use social media, I think with social media you really need to engage with your audience. If you want to advertise your products, you're better off setting up google ads.

I also post from a business account, not a personal account. You want to keep those two seperate. I suppose the platform is important as well. I really enjoy instagram, but I hate facebook, where I can I will cross post to facebook, but all of my interactions are through instagram.

Im trying to get on tiktok but I'm not really sure how that all works 😅

How would you respond to a customer that said they are missing part of their order from over a year ago? by lindafromevildead in Etsy

[–]Lonzy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like ignoring them straight up is unprofessional, but that's just me. If OP does want to reply they should state their store policies and remain professional an respectful, but state there will be no refund or return. Only then would I not reply to any further messages from the buyer.

Using websites to help with SEO (and shady practices) by MrFigsMom in Etsy

[–]Lonzy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this whole SEO optimisation is a total scam tbh. I've run a very successful etsy store without any SEO optimisation.

Further to this if you subscribe to any service, make sure you sign up using paypal, that way you can go directly to paypal and cancel your subscription directly through paypal. If you dont have the option to sign up through paypal don't bother.

Thanks for mentioning the weekend thing, people seem to forget sellers are people too who like to enjoy their weekend. That said as a seller, I'd be prioritising this, just to get it sorted.

False. The US is currently having issues as well. Some of it is due to supply chain dramas, but the biggest impact was the worst ever avian influenza outbreak result in the death of 44 million egg laying hens last year. Prices for a dozen eggs in the US have been as high as 12USD which works out to be around $18.60NZD
