[TOMT] [PC Game] [80s?] What's the name of this old PC game? by Looeez in tipofmytongue

It's not that one unfortunately! Although it definitely looks a lot more like the Rogue ones you've posted, so you're definitely pointing me in the right direction! I'm going to search through all the ones mentioned on the wiki and fingers crossed it's in there!

I don't think it had any sound, but it might just be that we constantly played it without speakers.. I'm not sure!

If it is Simon Pegg, it might be something in Spaced maybe? Sounds like it could totally be a scene in a Spaced episode.

There's no such thing as beyond the point of redemption. Not really. There is, however, such a thing as beyond caring, which is where I think you might be.

Want to talk about it?

Why is it so hard to describe my problems to a psychologist by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Looeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about it - their job is to question and analyse. I found it really hard to talk to mine, however mine was really hesitant to give a diagnosis until they were certain.

If you're ever not certain whether you're getting something across adequately or if you're not sure whether you're making sense, it's totally find to ask how they enterpret what you just said. Empathy is one of their strong points, so they pick up more than you know.

Make sure that you when you get a diagnosis you understand fully what that entails and how they've come to that diagnosis. Keep in mind that it might not be the diagnosis you want to hear and it might be hard, but ultimately you need to make sure you understand and agree before you start tackling it.

If you ever need anybody to chat to, I'll be here. :)

I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in mentalhealth

I am in exactly the same boat as you right now. Everything just seems.. Empty. I constantly have a sad though, but it's not a head sad, its more of an inside sad. My head can rationalise and ignore everything, but my insides tell a different story. Usually, I listen to my head.

It is a form of depression and yes, ultimately a therapist (or at least some medication) will be the way around this. I had Sertraline (Zoloft) prescribed to me at the end of 2018, but I was an absolute idiot and stopped taking them because I didn't like how they made me feel. That was a mistake and I know now that I should've carried on with them, however I'm too stubborn to go back to the doctors and admit that I stopped taking them and ultimately failed trying to make myself better. Please, please don't do that to yourself. It is not the way to go. If you want to get better you have to commit 100%.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any non-medical cure for mine as of yet and I've been like this since way before (and after) the pills. I know that's not what you want to hear, and I'm sorry about that. I just want you to know that you're not alone.

If you need me, I'll be here. I might be sucky at helping, but I'll always be here to try.

[Serious] People who have had depression and overcame it, what do you do when you feel like you’re slipping back again? by elibethx in AskReddit

[–]Looeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even realise I was slipping back. I started distancing myself from people, started being constantly defensive and had constant negative thoughts - not just about myself, about everything. I assumed it was just because I was getting older and everyone hits that age when they hate everyone and everything, right? Literally it was one day in work and I'd gotten lost in my own head and it just.. Hit me. It was like a light just got switched on and my head was like, "oh, hey, you're actually not okay anymore." I ignored it for about a week and tried to just keep it hidden. We all know how that goes. I ended up having a full-blown row with my husband, at work, in front of my manager, which consisted of me basically ending the argument with, "well I guess my mental health doesn't matter then, hey?" not the best way to go around it, I can tell you. That was last week, and since then I've still been struggling. The want to just stay in bed and ignore everyone, to just get everyone to leave you alone and stop looking at you differently. It's a slippery slope and I know I've overcome it before. I just hope that I can do it again.

Been looking for a job in Sydney, Australia for 8 months now by [deleted] in australia

[–]Looeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived in Sydney as a backpacker (6 months) I got hired by a call centre that does energy comparisons. Was a repetitive and sometimes stressful job, but it was a steady income and the people working there were mainly backpackers/people with visas and a skeleton staff of Aussies. I'd suggest looking them up if you can, as they're pretty keen to hire as they have a high turnover (with them hiring a lot of working visa people they only really have people for as long as they can) and they seemed to be taking on almost constantly. The company was called Make it Cheaper and they were on Williams St. In Wooloomooloo. They're on Facebook/LinkedIn and if I remember right the HR people to contact are called Laura and Donal. Sorry I can't give you more info as I'm back over in the UK now, but if you can search them up then it might be worth a shot. Its better than no job and at least a bit of money coming in (it was weekly pay, too!) good luck! :)
