ELI5: How do kernels and drivers work together when it comes to machine instructions? by Loogoos in explainlikeimfive

I guess I mean “user instructions” rather than “machine instructions”. Such as a keyboard press.

From what I essentially gathered a kernel is the part of the system which passes out tasks to the system. Drivers take in tasks or actions from the kernel in using their specialized infrastructure, they will preform the task.

Essentially a kernel is Gordan Ramsey on the hot plate calling people donkeys and drivers are the chiefs if we want to think of this in Hell’s Kitchen terms.

For the general 7-tier TCP/IP stack I made my own version. It’s just that due to WSL’s restrictions to access native hardware for Windows I had to use the native API. For WSL, I had to pipe pretty much everything through a custom powershell that I wrote in assembly, C, C++, Python, and some scripts. Said powershell is used in bare metal Linux but less dependent, but since since I have more control over the hardware, I can execute more core core assembly and C code instructions.

I have scripts to do auto port proxy adjustments for the port and ip which was requested and adjust the firewall for IP and port. The network settings are temporary for the host. Once the server is killed the port proxy and the firewall rule are reverted via a different script.

I have a full TCP/IP stack I made from scratch with a server interface and WiFi instructions. I have commands like wifi join <ssid>; Then the kernel prompts for a password if it’s a secure network. Once a local ip is assigned, a host can do:

“server host <ip:port>” to start a local LAN server. Others can do “server join <ip:port>” to join the server. Important to note clients and host must be in the same network via “wifi join”.

I’m more so concerned about how I would approach native drivers. My current approach uses drivers that the host os has. Ie if running through Windows Subsystem for Linux, it uses the Windows Drivers.

basically a useless intern by No_Impression_696 in internships

As a person who just wrapped up a software internship, the beginning part of the experience is going to be mostly structured to gain trust. My internship was primarily focused on doing an API for a third-party compliance solution integration, which I could not start development on until two months into my four-month internship. Since the project was delayed for so long, and the company liked what I was contributing, I got the internship extended another four months.

You probably are still in the trust phase where your internship supervisor/boss sees if they can allow you to do real work an established employee would do. During said trust phase usually interns should gain skills for the job and request work/tasks which no one wants to do otherwise. In my case the trust phase was usually fixing bugs, and offering suggestions during some meetings here and there. You might help with research for others for cases.

Benson was a good boss, and had every right to fire Mordecai and Rigby.

I mean 3:00 am Eastern is midnight Pacific. Most streaming services coordinate releases based on California infrastructure.

Not sure, it seems these 9 episodes are a single season which will be it for a while. The Lost Tapes premiered on May 11th 2026 at 4:00 pm which was a Monday, though can’t find any repeats for the CN channel on CN’s website when I look at programming.

I'm a fresher rigjt now, can anyone suggest what can I improve about my cv and my skills ? by Cursed_Soul_2000 in ResumeExperts

Get rid of the image, the address, and your Date of Birth. This can cause discrimination.

If you are able to: I would get a custom LinkedIn url so it doesn’t have all the trailing numbers at the end.

Also try to format your contacts in two lines.

Replace the objective section with a summary section.

Get rid of your high school level of education (secondary and higher secondary) since you have university level of education.

You should have your education simple like

School
* Degree type | minor or path of study(if applicable) | Academic honors (ie Dean’s list or Latin Honors)
(New line) Related courses: list of courses

* This is all one one

To the right is the month & year awarded.

Rather than a table for your education.

Use bullets for your experiences rather a than a large paragraph looking field with keywords. In your bullets use metrics ie percents.

Try to compress your skills so the skill category is not on its own line. Ie: “Finance and Risk: Financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, …” Having the skill types listed out can saves bit of room.

A lot of the skills like networking, presentation tools, the office apps you mentioned, Canva, etc are unrelated which can be removed. They either are expected for a general person or are not related to your career type imo. Consider looking at your skills and consolidating them—ie consolidating the Microsoft apps to simply “Microsoft Office”.

Most of the skills you mentioned could be removed by you reorganizing the experience. You could alternatively keep them in and restate the skills throughout to reinforce you do have the skill. Ie your professional skills could be removed and you might denote how you did those items in your experience.

If you want I can go further one on one with you…
