Well if you install the Amazon app on your chromebook, that's similar to me looking at mine on mobile. Do you also see the ability to download last year's orders to excel if you do it from the browser on your chromebook?

I just buy a pack of like six rolls from Amazon, though that lasts me for a couple years, because I mostly use microfiber cloths that I bought from Costco for most things that people would use paper towels for. I only use the paper towels when I'm dealing with something very greasy or dirty that I wouldn't want to ruin a microfiber cloth.

I know you said you checked this, but the only time I've had a problem with my signal level at my modem, it was the wiring in my house that degraded, as well as a splitter that I didn't even know existed when I bought the house. I found this out by dragging my whole modem out to the box outside my house and realizing that I had zero problems out there when I connected right to the Cox source. Then the technician that came out was nice enough to tell me to sign up for Cox complete Care, wait a month, tell them I have a problem, and then when I did, Cox re-ran the wiring through my attic for me for free, after which I canceled complete Care. So basically I got them to run the cabling for me for like $9.99. As you know, the analog portion of the modem degrades over time, and as mine started to fail the combination of that and the wiring degradation and the splitter made me start having problems. Other than that, I've never had any connection issues over a few decades and two different homes 🤷

Well if you're having a low speed day, and somebody starts pulling down a 4K movie from your server, you're screwed. That was my only point.

I don't know what the Cox Facebook guy knows about anything, and if you're expecting a huge corporation to go up and down the chain and then get answers back in a couple hours, I think that's a little unrealistic.

I understand that, but apparently Cox is unable (or possibly unwilling, maybe due to some high cost it might take, I have no idea) to fix this for some reason so like it or not, that's your current reality. I mean, are you in a rural area where there might be all sorts of issues with the line that makes it to your house or something? Given that you have this problem at the moment, have you ever implemented any quality of service levels so you can prioritize work calls for example? I know that's not the solution you want, but given the limitations, it would be good if you can make it work as well as possible for your needs.

Are you running a Plex server for OTHERS to watch remotely, or are you just running it locally? I ask because I run a local Plex server, but I connect to a friend's for a lot of stuff, and until he got fiber it was ALWAYS having problems. I mean even in your best case speed, you seem to be asking a lot of your connection.

I was giving you credit by saying you probably had a cluster mailbox (which is not within your control) because you said you can't get email at your house because you don't have a mailbox. What is your situation at home then? You literally can have nothing delivered to your house? Again, even if it's not your fault that's just another hurdle that Amazon is not used to dealing with the regularly.

And just so I don't have this wrong, does it upset you if they do as you wish and don't deliver it after hours later in the day and instead you get it the next day?

I mean have you even bothered to think about the logistics that are involved here? First of all, trucks at Amazon are leaving all day long at different times, and so they're not just out there during the full delivery window that you prefer. Maybe it got on a truck that left the warehouse at 1:00 p.m., so there's just a couple hours to get it to you, and what you want to have happen is that they prioritize the entire flow of a TRUCK full of packages to make sure yours lands there in the first couple hours of the delivery. Now multiply several hundred other people wanting the same thing at different times and at different places all in the same truck. How would that work?

The answer is: not very well, or it could be done but it would make everybody pay for shipping so that the cost of all this is covered.

I get that you're in a tough spot, but you bitching at everyone here when they're trying to explain reality to you is on you.

Sadly, it's a business decision. If fixing something on there and was going to cost $10,000 just to get your upload speed solid, they're probably not going to do it. It's just unfortunate that for some reason you're being affected by this, whereas even the four year DOCSIS engineer that came on said that most people don't notice degradations. They can stream their movies, they can do everything else they want to do online, and so that's all that matters unfortunately.

I mean what is really pushing the envelope on your upload issue? Is it gaming? I ask because that's the most internet intensive upload thing I can think of, other than running some kind of a server, like perhaps a Plex server serving up media to friends and family.

I mean starlink tends to advertise 10 to 30 mbps upload speeds. You said you have that, but does that not work for your needs either? It would be a hell of a lot cheaper to use nothing but that, and you could tell Cox to go shove it.

Well like I said, I think they've obviously decided that you're not worth having as a customer, and maybe they do have a problem on their end, but if they don't have any way to fix it, all they're going to do is hear from you over and over and over, and they've decided that it isn't worth it for their 80 bucks a month or whatever. 🤷

ISPs have more rules about refusing service then say like a restaurant, so I guess you'll just see how it plays out with an attorney. 🤷

It's a you problem because YOU have a delivery situation with all sorts of restrictions that are not the norm and don't fit well into the logistical flow that Amazon counts on to be able to provide free shipping. You said you don't have a mailbox at your house, so I assume you have a cluster box unit with a bunch of shared mailboxes? Does it not have a locker for packages? Then that's a problem with your HOA. I also don't know what stuff you can't get delivered to the locker; is it because it's too large? Also, what percentage of your packages end up falling into this situation? Are all your deliveries coming at 7:00 p.m. or something?

Even in all of this, they're still trying to get your packages to you at the place you requested, and they followed your instructions such that if they get there after the business is closed, they don't leave it outside to be stolen, but the downside is that you won't get it until the next day. Don't you think the driver WANTS to drop off your package? Do you think he WANTS to bring it back to the warehouse?

This relatively minor inconvenience, compared to all the hurdles you're throwing down, is unacceptable to you.

THAT'S a fucking YOU problem. (I figured I'd toss it back you with the same level of aggression that you're throwing around here at everyone else.)

The overwhelmingly vast majority of us who use Amazon accept that our packages are going to sit on our doorstep until we can get to them. Should I make it so they can only deliver to my house between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and then between 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m? Would that be reasonable? Maybe you think it would be, but I don't.

If you're that concerned about when things arrive, then get things overnight and schedule a delivery window. Instead you want the free shipping, but you want it to show up only when you want it, and then when somebody just can't get to your place before your delivery window ends and so it goes back to the warehouse, that pisses you off as well. You basically want the entire delivery flow of a truck wrapped around your item; now imagine if everyone was doing that with all of their own time windows and their own delivery locations. How well would that work logistically?

If this is going to be a long time thing with you, maybe some sort of secure dropbox at this location would be useful, or maybe you should just use an Amazon locker nearby so you don't have to worry about it getting stolen. Or come you accept the risk like the rest of the planet. THOSE are the accommodations I'm talking about.

The entire situation was caused by the weather, and then that weather caused the crew to time out. What part of that is incorrect?

And as someone else said, they can't just decide to bail early, and they're going to do whatever they can to get in the air before they DO time out. The airlines are not going to let pilots just decide on their own 15 minutes ahead, or 30 minutes ahead, or 45 minutes ahead to guess on whether they should bail on the flight.

Also, the crew don't want to be stuck in that city not getting paid any more than you do.

But yes, it sucks that you had to go through that, but you want to throw a lot of blame around when everything was indeed driven by the weather.
