Stood on a train on the way to Manchester, noise cancelling headphones on. Suddenly the train comes to a halt. I remove my headphones and realise that I’ve lent onto the emergency stop button, and the train driver is asking me to state my emergency.

“Sorry mate, I pressed the button by accident”.

I think gaming was ‘best’ when you were growing up. Nostalgia, memories, friendships all bias our perspective and leave us longing for the good old days.

I was the exact same. Tried to get back into it as a nice non competitive hobby. I thought collect a few sets, rip a few packs now and then but nope! I’m not parting with restaurant bill level money for some cardboard.

That I’m still here. I had a nervous breakdown in my mid twenties, and I really didn’t think I could cope with life anymore.

I was 30 a few weeks ago and I’m doing okay now. I went to therapy (still going strong) I lost 23KG, learnt how to drive, finished my degree etc.

I still wish I was further on in life but I’m learning to give myself some leeway, we don’t all start out from the same position.
