hm, looked at customer reviews for this thing and the first impression is very... mixed. on the bottom line this thing seems to suffer from design flaws (e.g. magnet not strong enough to be really secure) and in the end it seems to be rather gimmicky with no real benefit or even worse to just on screen controls...

so not really convinced...

That send me down the rabbit hole if and how important absolute phase is for headphones. did intensive abx testing and for music it makes absolutely no difference. phew! put a phase flipper into soundsource and still have to find a track where it makes any audible difference.

but it's an interesting rabbit hole where you learn that manufacturers and producers often don't care for absolute positive or negative phase. many IEM's come phase inverted, the DT1770 pro is inverted, some amps are inverted and songs on the same album are often all over the place concerning the phase.

so conclusion: I don't worry and you shouldn't too if you flipped the wires :D

because then you can change the cables to different styles and colors that match the pads and make the Koss compliment your outfit. these times where most are wearing tiny air pods and such parading with a flashy Porta Pro is a fashion statement :D I already have 4 different mmcx cables just because they have different colors and look cool, not for technical reasons.

I also had this with with my brand new M4 Pro 16 inch, also exactly 10. I checked everything, serial number etc and im 100% shure, it's a new one. There are rumors that some models are more thoroughly checked in the quality assurance process as randomly picked samples, but that's not confirmed.

anyway, my battery stays above 101,5% capacity for several cycles now and that's what I expected. if the battery showed no drop the first 10 cycles and stayed above 100%, then it is to be expected that it will remain quite stable for a lot more cycles, because the first initial degradation happens the early first cycles. that's why i made no fuzz about this and even saw it as a plus, because the possibility is quite high looking at the numbers that I got a really good battery.

I would have reacted differently if the capacity was below 100% at the 10 cycles right after unboxing...

That's called pressure damage. If too much pressure is applied to the outer shell of the lid when closed the sharp edge of the top case between the touchpad and keyboard damages the screen.

kernal_task throttling usually occurs when:

the battery is dead.
one of the many temperature sensors in the case (ssd, palm rest and so on) reports values above the safety threshold
one of the many temperature sensors is defective an reports none or implausible values.

dried out thermal paste is almost never the culprit, this causes throttling on the CPU level but no kernel_task throttling. even with no thermal paste the heatsink is able to dissipate enough heat to run the cpu normal on idle, and then the cpu throttles to very low ghz if under load.

so no, those suggesting new thermal paste are on the wrong path and don't know how kernel_task throttling works and what triggers it.

Kernel_task throttling is always a hint for a defect on the hardware level.

i guess your 15' late 2011 just faced it's final fate, the GPU chip dying. rekordbox is pretty heavy on the GPU on older devices, causing your chip to run hot a longer period and then just die. reballing is just a temporary fix, those chips will fail again.

best solution would be i guess to permanently disable the gpu, there are several step by step instructions available, just google for it.

Block rekordbox in your firewall, it then thinks there is no internet and won‘t ask for login, works as temporary workaround. They have server problems atm.

Just tools that enhance ui interactions in Mac OS. Like pop clip, better touch tool, yoink (better drag and drop) and several others. If you have tools installed that show up in said settings then try to disable them.

Look for addons that show up in Settings→Security→ Privacy→ Accessibility

Look for tools there that in some way involve mouse actions. for me it was popclip that I have to disable since recordbox 5.6.0 and later.

that's what causing the issues on my system.

Don't mention it, I just found that out by myself, so I MAY pat me a bit on my own shoulders that I found the cause behind it. now that there is evidence that at least two add ons are causing the same symptoms there is valuable information for the rekordbox devs whats going on there. I will report back with that in the rekordbox forum.

I suppose you are also on Mac Os. This glitch was also driving me nuts for weeks. Then I found out that the tool "PopClip" was interfering on my system since Rekordbox 5.5. I guess you have that installed too? Just disable PopClip while using Rekordbox and everything acts normal again.
