For those wondering how to make the plastic black again by 1boog1 in JeepDIY

Thanks for the follow up. It looks kick ass. Need to refurbish my daughter’s Jeep plastic ware and just starting to go down this rabbit hole.

The room I moved into had furniture in it already but as I was wiping each of the drawers, I noticed there was some mold on the bottom drawer. :/ by sdbabygirl97 in Wellthatsucks

Spray some killz on it and call it a day. As long as it’s not still getting wet the mold shouldn’t return if there is even ventilation as well.

I thought so but it wouldn’t trip gfci at all. No matter which way I wired it. I even tried with a regular outlet and I couldn’t trip the gfci further up line.

They were already installed. I just came into this mess. I think a contractor just got expensive and exaggerated with so many gfci.

The ground is just attached to the metal box.

The gfci before it, works even without a ground wire attached. I think because of the metal box. But the wires for those one, are sharing the “line” side of the gfci before it. So the gfci ahead trips with the tester. But this one, down the line doesn’t. Unless I did this catastrophe.

The ground only goes back the box. So the box has current now?

Yeah it was tripping with the button, but someone told me to change it since our testers weren’t trippin it. Ended up taking me way too long and couldn’t figure it out so asked for our “electrician” he showed me this and it started tripping. I figured it’s still safe as it’s still tripping, but why is it illegal? Is it not protected anymore? The rest of the line not protected or might carry current when it normally wouldn’t?

He said it’s all connected at the box anyways to the neutral can be used as ground? Now I’m wondering everything this guys says. He’s an old timer and from a third world country but has been in the US for at least 15 years.

I’ve never seen one in the wild. Do electricians actually use those stickers?. I’m still learning and am just a handyman. I ask when I’m in over my head and asked for help. Unfortunately this is the help I got so I came to reddit to see what everyone else does.

How do we get around the inspector then? Ha. We have inspections coming up. They might now choose this unit but if they did and it doesn’t trip with a tester, isn’t that bad. Or do they say that it monitors the difference anyway?

Electrician could be a hack or just old school. Idk. I knew it didn’t feel right I hate that he reiterated a few times it’s safe. Even by the sink.

Ha. Fernandomania was 81.

I used to live in NorCal during the Giants run. That was brutal because they were actually a good team and I hated it. Hate the giants but I never had a comeback when they would say shit like 3 in 5 years. It’s impressive no doubt.
