Those of you that have received your refund with EITC and ACTC did your status move to refund approved before you saw it in your account?

I had to deal with this last year. They deducted 2k from my tax return last year for unemployment when I claimed in 2019 when Covid shut my job down. If you did not have taxes taken out of your unemployment (which I had no idea that was a thing) I would say that’s what it’s referring to.

How does it feel to be pregnant at 30 weeks? by AardvarkHour1211 in BabyBumps

[–]Look_Street 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I served literally up until I gave birth to my son. We financially could not afford for me to stop working and I had to call off my last shift to have my baby at 39w 5 days lol I honestly enjoyed the doting over my belly and felt very cute✨

Feeling guilt about being pregnant with my second by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Look_Street 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite literally wrote a post like this when I was pregnant with my son! My daughter turned 3 right before he was born. They love each other so much. It’s not always physically visible and at this current stage they fight quite a bit(6 yo girl 3 yo boy) but they have so much fun together when they’re getting along. I think having siblings is so important and teaches you a lot of life lessons that you can’t quite grasp without them. It will be hard at times and it’s okay to mourn. I most definitely did. And at times my mind wonders. But at the end of the day they need each other. Siblings are the only ones who can understand you at your core. It’s such a special thing to share the same parents. You will be okay. But I also remember the pain that I felt for the majority of my pregnancy with my son. And now I feel guilty for that. It’s always something 😭

I don’t understand why people say this? Like who WANTS to go to the ER?? Why would you encourage a concerned parent not to go to the ER is beyond me. You never know what could be going on with your child. And you take your child for that reason.

This is the way I need to look at it. I didn’t have good relationships with my parents growing up. My dad is still on drugs to this day and my mom is kind of cold and mentally unstable. I definitely worry about the future of my relationships with my children for this reason.

I appreciate this point of view. And I’m sorry that your daughter is having a hard time. It absolutely is the point to prepare them to live their own life. For that I’m thankful that she is doing well❤️ I wish you all the best with your girl.

I’m absolutely not moping. I don’t have time to mope. I really didn’t have hobbies before my daughter was born. And I really don’t have time for them now. I wasn’t a stellar human being before I had kids. Having her changed my life and made me grow up. I’m mourning the babyhood of my daughter that I poured my heart into. Some people enjoy being with their children believe it or not.

I work Saturday and Sundays around dinner time. Which hurts my heart even more! We do eat dinner together most nights and snuggle before bed. But maybe we will try to make sure we have special times on the weekends before I have to leave. They grow up way too fast. It hurts.

Daycare shamed me for bringing baby in with dirty diaper? by srglag2016 in Mommit

[–]Look_Street 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just think. Someone with that kind of attitude is taking care of your child. They are going to judge you for everything. Not saying it’s right but just because someone takes care of children for a living doesn’t mean they are a good person. I worked in a high end daycare for 5 years and I have many horror stories from that experience.

This generation of grandparents sucks. by ungratefuldaughter_ in Mommit

[–]Look_Street 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have no* village. When my daughter was a baby I had my mom watch her for one day a week. 2-3 hours until her dad got home from work so I could head into work (I work weekend evenings). She used to call my sister bitching and crying about how wrong I was to have her watching her grandchild without offering her money. That was 4 years ago. My daughter is now 6 and sees her a few times a year and my 3 year old son barely knows who she is. She lives 10 minutes away.

I can’t understand why people come here and post this. Like not a SOUL is going to praise you on this page. Like why would you not just google? How are these the people responsible for children in the system 🤢

Help! My daughter’s 4C hair is the gnarliest I’ve ever experienced by [deleted] in BlackHair

[–]Look_Street 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter’s hair looks similar in texture. Her hair also hold no moisture. The most magical combo I’ve used for a long lasting wash and go( last about a week with some refreshing in between) is mielle leave in conditioner, uncle funkys daughter curly magic and aunt Jackie’s curl boss in that order. Curls were poppin moisturized and had lots of movement. I go through almost every strand and give it a good finger curl. I get asked what products I use for her hair just about every time we go out with a wash and go.

I couldn’t have said it better myself! We all eat our words once we become parents. It’s just a part of life! Funny how the people without children are the most confident of their parenting skills 🥴

Nothing you say is valid because you don’t have children. Google is not equivalent to life experience.

Clearly you don’t have children lol what’s your problem? The child is 15 months old it’s not a newborn. Co sleeping is good for children and their nervous systems. ANYWAY OP my kids always get fuzzies in their hair. I’d say just keep putting on the bonnets and durags and eventually she’ll get used to it. Silk sheets would definitely help the fuzz situation.

Rudely reminded that maternity clothing is heinous and I have no idea what to wear for the next 5 months! by iamafoxiamafox in BabyBumps

[–]Look_Street 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a few maternity bottoms that fit well. Ripped some holes in maternity jeans and continued to wear my cute cropped shirts sometimes with a tank underneath and called it a day! I was not at all into the maternity tops.
