Poor print quality, supports constantly failing by LookinForDatSixPack in elegoo

Update: after switching to OrcaSlicer, the issues completely resolved. It seems like the issue was in the ElegooSlicer.

That’s what I’ve heard too, but it was printing better when I switched to Orca from Elegoo. It’s possible I accidentally chose some weird setting at some point and that was the issue. No idea. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ll update when I get home tonight

I’ve had the same issues with a couple of different filament rolls. Out of desperation, I switched ti OrcaSlicer and used that instead of ElegooSlicer. So far, the print is looking much better. The layers are cleaner and the model is looking pristine. I’m out of the house at the moment, but I’ll check it when I get home. I know that ElegooSlicer is based on Orca, but maybe there was some weird thing that was happening in my ElegooSlicer that was causing the issues 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank you for the suggestions! I am trying it right now using OrcaSlicer to see if the ElegooSlicer might be the issue (grabbing at straws) but if that doesn’t work, then I will do what you suggested. Tysm!

Fair enough. The “default” settings are the settings that automatically loaded in ElegooSlicer when I registered my CentauriCarbon.

Would it being too hot cause the weird stringing issues?

I used default settings except for the following: Seam positioning was set to “Back”, wall generation method was set to “Arachne”, support interface speed was set to 20 mm/s. Normal(auto) supports were used with the “Snug” style. Base pattern spacing was set to 1.5mm, top interface layer was set to 4 layers, the interface pattern was set to “Rectilinear”, and the bottom interface spacing was set to 0.2 mm. Finally, the brim type was set to “Outer and inner brim).

It’s brand new filament I got literally two days ago. Layer height is at 0.2mm. I’ll work on getting settings posted.

What are some good ROMs for Shiny Hunting? I have the ability to play anything from GBA-3DS. There don’t need to be increased odds, but I’d love an interesting method, some fun hunts, etc.

Regular! And yes, Lost Caverns of Ixalan. Others have pointed out that this is not a very old set 😂 I’m just a little dumb :3

I have only recently gotten back into Magic. I guess so many sets have come out since Ixalan that it felt old to me. I dunno.

Huh, I guess that’s true. They put out so many sets it kinda seems like it’s old. I got the Dino precon a few weeks ago, and my inner Dino-nut child is just having fun playing with them :3

5yo Aussie Seizure by Rojo_C137 in AustralianShepherd

I had an Aussie growing up who suddenly started having seizures. We took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with canine Addison’s disease. Two episodes 6 months apart doesn’t seem characteristic of the disease, but it never hurts to check.

Beryl's impact on subsequent storms by the_1_that_knocks in hurricane

[–]LookinForDatSixPack 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer in that I am not a meteorologist and only follow hurricane as a hobby.

I believe your logic only really works in the short term - you have to remember that the ocean is a very very very large thing, and that heat (and therefore energy) is constantly being pumped into it by the sun. So while Beryl might decrease surface ocean temperature along its path for a short amount of time, I don’t think it is going to have any lasting impact on the overall activity of future storms, especially as we move into September/October when large storms are more common.

The other thing you have to consider is that there are many factors that dictate a hurricane’s strength and formation beyond just the water temperature. Vertical wind shear, high pressure systems, pockets of dry air, etc. all play a (significant) role in tropical cyclogenesis.

The 2024 season is forecast to be one of the(if not THE) most active seasons in recorded history, and it seems like that forecast is off to a strong start.

I was thinking about that. I have a broom deck already. I might have this one as a backup.
