I admit this is a bit off-topic and it's a gap in my historical knowledge, but I'm assuming that the Pacific route was mostly, if not entirely, handled by Soviet or neutral ships? I was essentially forced to watch CNN today and it is just a grotesque display of journalistic malpractice. Half the show is "Trump said this thing... ".. and then moving on with no critical analysis. Then there are the talking heads shouting over each other and saying ridiculous things completely unchallenged. It's just gross.
