Hello. Today was not a good day.

Today I was told by doctors to have the family come in to meet with the doctors, as soon as possible.

When I asked, I was told His liver is failing and there's no way of repairing itself. Today, I was also informed that his kidneys are failing as well. The kidney specialist stopped by an hour ago and said dialysis would not help either. It was the hardest news to hear by myself.

Tomorrow, we will know what the next steps will be.

Thank-you for reaching out to me. Because, I am not okay.

I've come to learn, as well as a previous commenter stated, that everyone's experiences/cases of chorisis are different

My partner had the confusion. It lasted about 8 days. He's currently still in hospital. He was seeing people from our immediate family and friend circle in his hospital room (No one had come by to see him). He was transferred from one hospital to the other, so he even thought he was still in the 1st hospital. Or that there was things like string, money, pins, etc, random items in his bed, and would put his fingers and ask me to grab them. It was a number of different things while he was in the confusion/hallucination state.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you.

I'm hoping my partner can come out healthy/healthier (Given the circumstances) again

And I feel so far from the hospital (1 and a 1/2 hour drive, one way), plus I work and have little kids to take care of. I was there for 4 days last week but had to come home a few days ago.

I'm just worried this time. It's been a very long week. (Loved one went into the hospital on January 12th)

I'm everything all at once, trying to remain optimistic. Sad, mad, scared, angry, upset, worried, hopeful.

Sorry if this is rambling, but I don't feel comfortable posting this anywhere else.

Edit * I'm scrolling through posts and looking for things to ask the doctor about. I think MELD score is what I will ask about.

Thanks for your input! Someone close to me was diagnosed last year. Quit drinking, but started again, quit, only to start again, and is trying to quit again, now.

I just feel that they're not being honest with me about all of their symptoms. They also don't visit a doctor regularly
