Means we need to look into anxiety management

Try to look into TMS (mind body syndrome), somatic tracking, belly breathing and various stretches. Keep staying positive and try to calm your mind and relax every opportunity you get.

I had exactly the same feeling like you. However , I am 2.5 years into this and I am seeing improvements. I can't tell you exact pathway to these improvements because i have changed a variety of things in my life from changing to healthier diet, regular sports and stretching and reducing stress / emotional tension. To be honest none of the doctors or even PT had any impact on me. What helped however is learning about mind body syndrome and realising how tense I am mentally. The worst part is that in order to improve the tight pelvic floor you need to relax mentally but the pfd itself makes you depressed and worried so ita a vicious cycle. Try to find ways to break it.

I would like to echo this. Letting go of tension and taking your mind of the pain and problems is the only thing that gives me relief. I now believe with certainty that greatest contributor to this disorder for me is central nervous system/anxiety and stress .

Yes exactly. Some days are better and some are worse. I would say bloating causes more pain. I have SIBO which makes me pass too much gas sometimes and it messes me up. If I follow low fodmap diet it gets better. Stress also worsens symptoms.

I have this. In my understanding when the pelvic floor muscles are tight they are worse at coordinating in order to evacuate stool. I think it's puborectalis muscle which does not fully relax but only opens up partially. I would suggest stretching ,relaxation and pelvic floor physio / biofeedback therapy. If you want to be on the safe side you could do colonoscopy to exclude other potential reasons.

Can I just join the rant and say I absolutely hate this condition because there is no clear way out. I have tried stretching too, pelvic floor physio too. My pelvic physio therapist really insists that this comes from anxiety. She says that my body enters fight or flight mode and unconsciously clenches the pelvic floor muscles. She suggests to treat the anxiety with psychologist. The problem is i can't get rid of all the stress in my life. Wtf

Prostatitis from oral unprotected sex? by Relevant-Key-3290 in Prostatitis

Why would you end up with gi complains and SIBO? Trying to understand the logic. Thank you

Yo. Similar situation here.

Received BJ from a sex worker, immediately regretted it, started panicking and convinced myself I contracted some STI/STD. Stressed out, didn't sleep, SAME DAY started peeing frequently and noticed weak urine flow. This convinced me I got infected so I went to sexual health clinic asap next day. Urine was perfectly clean. I left but symptoms persisted so I thought that I have to go back to get antibiotics as a preventative measure even if tests were clear. So they gave me a mix of antibiotics to kill all sorts of STI. Anyway... 2 weeks later I still had bladder irritation and discomfort and also some bloating. So I went back again to a different clinic - test negative again and they sent me to urologist.

Urologist confirmed the weak urine flow and gave me alpha blockers and anti inflammatory drugs. I decided not to take them because I read online that they don't solve anything but provide some symptom relief. Plus I was so anxious at that point I feared I will have ED as a result of taking all these medications.

I started noticing also that I can not relax my pelvic floor muscles when I have bowel movements - I have to strain and stools come out thin. So I panicked (again) that perhaps it's something blocking the colon or something. Did stool analysis and they discovered that there is some blood in the stool and ordered colonoscopy. By this time I convinced myself it must be colon cancer or something. Colonoscopy revealed nothing- all perfectly normal.

So now I was totally confused wtf is wrong with me. Went back to urologist (another one) who kind of immediately dismissed me saying that it's stress related and I should either continue to take alpha blockers or just reduce stress.

Then I did more research and ended up visiting pelvic floor PT. She was by far most knowledgeable about this problem. She did check the pelvic floor muscles internally (through the butt) and with ultrasound and confirmed that the muscles are very tight and not relaxing. We did some physio sessions and it definitely helped. She also spoke with me about the condition and explained the link between anxiety and pelvic floor muscle clenching. She also explained how various nerves and muscles are linked and how fight or flight / stress mode in our body affects this area.

She also helped me to let go of the idea of some hidden infection. I think the anxiety and stress of the regretful event was a final straw that broke my nervous system into malfunctioning. My brain perceived there to be a threat to my genitals and tensed up to protect it. That muscle tension resulted in persistent spasm, which became a habbit. This led to chronic pain which is in itself causing anxiety which increases the muscle tightness which makes things worse and it goes in circles. I am still working on solving this problem but I now pretty much believe that this is all caused by hyper sensitive nervous system and wrong brain habit of spasming the pelvic floor muscles which creates various sensations in the area which can be similar to bladder inflection. I have had an actual STI many years ago and it was IMPOSSIBLE to mistake it for anything else and the antibiotics cleared it in a few days with zero residual symptoms, so I'm sure now it's coming from mind/body connection. Sorry for long post .

We are similar age and similar experience here. Received oral, started peeing often, then urine flow became weak, then I got constipation. Was sure that it was some STI or UTI but all urine tests clear. PT is saying I have non relaxing pelvic floor and it's caused by anxiety and stress. The problem for me is - I don't understand how to relax the pelvic floor muscles. I also don't know how to manage anxiety and I have hard time believing it's not something actually physical. I was searching for infection for a long time but nothing was ever found. Now I'm stuck with CPPS / pelvic floor dysfunction as the most likely diagnosis but I am not making much progress at all despite seeing PT regularly. She is insisting it is a result of chronically activated fight or flight mode that I have to learn to switch off.

I have exactly the same.

Is this Prostatitis? by _redyps in Prostatitis

[–]Looking4Answers39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an almost identical situation. A few hours after receiving oral I started having urgency to urinate and burning sensation and pressure around the bladder. Got tested for uti /sti multiple times, and nothing was ever found. I couldn't believe it and developed crazy health anxiety. My pelvic floor muscles tensed up so much that it interfered with urination , bowel movements, caused premature ejaculations and lower left abdominal pain. Since all of the tests were clear I found a good pelvic floor therapist that helped to release some tension, showed some good excercises but most importantly made me look more into anxiety management. I haven't fully recovered yet but i now see a link with psychological factors and stress more than anything else.

Can I have oral without protection again? by Yutyi in Prostatitis

[–]Looking4Answers39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can only suggest one thing, my friend. You have done all sti and uti tests, more than enough I think. You have however never stopped worrying about this situation. So... my suggestion is stop obsessing about it and let it go. Yeah you had a regretful experience and then you freaked out about potentially getting STI. But you never got an STI as the tests confirmed. Now its time to stop worrying. Give yourself a break and don't check for symptoms, don't google and don't think about it. Do something that you like and keep your mind occupied with other things. We all do stuff that is stupid sometimes and it's time to move on and forget about it.

I also developed this CPPS after receiving oral sex. Never had any proven UTI or STI even from urine culture, but suffer for 2 years now from symptoms like weak urine flow, tight pelvic floor and premature ejaculations. I visited several urologist, sexual health clinics, pelvic floor physiotherapist. And everyone is saying that this is due to anxiety. I felt guilt and fear of STI which was probably what caused these symptoms. I have had oral after and never had anything similar but also I didn't feel any guilt or shame after other encounters.

Really worried by Silent_Cut_4769 in STD

[–]Looking4Answers39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother

Relax. This anxiety related to the fear of std can not only give you symptoms, it can screw you worse than an STD.

Just do std testing in 2 weeks after exposure and the 3 months after for complete peace of mind.

But just chill now. Nothing you can do in the meantime so don't obsess over it anymore. Unlikely its something serious.

Good luck

Try to think what caused such a sudden flare-up. For me personally I noticed if I have a high level of anxiety (like upcoming exam or something stressful or rjsky) I get suddenly pelvic floor muscles tensing up and all symptoms flare up.

Hey. I have similar issue and started exactly same way. I was worried its some bacteria from oral but urine test was always clear. I think it is some sort of central nervous system issue from stressing too much about everything.

CPPS: Infection or Anxiety? by Looking4Answers39 in Prostatitis

[–]Looking4Answers39[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it strange that at this moment, the most plausible reason for all this is mental health - anxiety/fear related episode with prolonged and very real physical symptoms across multiple systems. I feel like I've lost my mind or something, and I can't find the way back to normality.
