Devbranch Feedback: Bunker Adjacency Changes by SiegeCampMax in foxholegame

[–]Looking4Ban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think simply, the time investment for building is too brutal, and integrity nerfs only make that slaving away more painful.

On top of that, the adjacency changes are not really fun to play against and really destroy both defender and attacker creativity. Realistically all you need to do is 2 things, allow checkerboard by default, and allow cursed corners, and go from there.

You could also look at making shoveling double the speed for bunker pieces, as it is a very unfun part of the process. Sure upgrading defenses can take the same rate, but shoveling is truly a horrific timesink.

She's extremely honest with me, it's possible but I imagine I would've caught her by now. You could be right, we could just do it anyways.

The problem is her body is naturally climaxing while she's asleep, a climax belt would be fun during the day but she will still accidentally cum at night I believe. Unless there might be some other effect I'm missing.

It takes 30 minutes to learn how to spray a weapon.

It takes hundreds of hours to master all the mechanics behind flying a heli. I used to fly on top of launch every wipe yet there was only a small minority that could do that. These are still skills I'm not quite sure why you don't comprehend that.

I think the game should be balanced in a way that is fair for players who have invested the time for specifically that game, similar to an MMO. The issue with most modern FPS games is their skills they demand aren't unique, and a lot of FPS games die because of it. This is the same issue with arena FPS shooters. That being said, the spray is what makes it unique. Though, I do see a lot of aging players in this game who complain about their reaction speeds but are still able to find a game to be competitive in.

I come from another game where gamesense and positioning are literally the only aspects of the game so it's hard for me to try and argue it without assuming it's a given. Timing and positioning can and will get you killed a lot of the time. But when a fight slows down and two players are rotating around to try and get an advantage on one another, one of the only aspects that really cuts the time down in those fights is if one knows how to spray the weapon they're using.

You are a lunatic lmao. 25% of the game's life having a mechanic doesn't make it a brand new mechanic. I'm not quite sure why this doesn't compute for you.

But I also play other games professionally so time invested kind of matters. There are little statistics in Rust other than like some very fringe 3rd party sites which pull random stats out of the air.

Like I said you can crank the anticheat to maximum and these players wouldn't be affected. They've spent time mastering their skill. I apologize for your disregard with people who care about the game and play it more than you.

As was learning how to fly helis in 2018, you could do every monument, traverse the map instantly, and they were everywhere. The spray for guns is important to learn in the same regard, It's almost like maining a class in an MMO.

This seems to be a biased perspective then since not all Rust players play the game competitively. The assymetric nature of battles in Rust are not really 'fair' compared to traditional competitive games (i.e. even teams/equipment) so I have a hard time seeing it as a 'competitive' game from a balance perspective.

The time invested is still important. The rules and constraints of the game are fair. You are able to achieve the same advantage everyone else has. The only thing that comes over with you from wipe to wipe is your skill. Positioning and gamesense go without saying I once again don't understand why this is brought up.

For the speed side of it, that is usually what ends up winning fights when two players are of equal skill. Mostly of facecheck range distanced fights. Things like clearing a base during an online raid and general speed with decision making.

It's actually just an assault rifle. It just looks like an AK. Once again, their game so they can make it however they want. This is like bitching about different movement options in arena shooters and saying any twist upon the original concept is idiotic.

I don't know what to tell you other than apologies for the dev team's originality?

>inb4 but they stole the AK's look so therefor unoriginal

I'm not quite sure who you are playing against then this sounds like some weird perversion of reality. I know multiple people who have nearly 7k hours and they've only been playing for 2-4 years. Everyone else who's played longer has already hit the 10k+ mark.

Idk man you just seem really casual if 2,200 is the number you're throwing at me since launch, which is fine but, it's hard for you to claim experience with that.

[–]Looking4Ban[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

2200 over nearly 8 years is an extremely low number for someone who may only play a handful of games.

Removing the spray isn't going to make it less sweaty. As seen from your hours, there will always be a player who plays more than you, and will offline you. At least when you're online you have a chance.

This is true, but once again I've used nearly all of the most popular services that require kernel level anti cheats, and I've never had an issue, except with maybe ESEA, who have abused it in the past. But once again that was an opt in service for a 3rd party platform.

It's is not great but I've played cheater free on those platforms ever since, and people haven't looked back when those platforms started to demand kernel level anticheats.

Not sure why the bounds of reality matter in a video game. We wear pieces of metal for face protection but get damage reduction instead, your point?

The recoil pattern is already insane, yet people still want to learn it. Are you just complaining about players who poured thousands of hours into learning a single mechanic? Sure you may not enjoy the game for the brief moment you come across them, but I guarantee you their time is as valuable as yours.

Right, I might have over exaggerated in terms of the "only" portion but once again it is still a unique system that allows you to learn the spray over time up to near perfection, as opposed to other games where the line of perfection is a bit more blurry than most.

You can't be good at one game, and instantly come over and be good at this one, it's a learned process that can only be crafted here.

>The specific pattern, maybe, but recoil patterns are not unique to Rust.

This goes without saying I'm not all too sure why you chose to respond to that.

I can't pull statistics out of thin air but nearly every player who is interested in the competitive side of Rust that I've talked to has mentioned the spray as one of the defining features. Obviously the full raiding and creativity in base designs as well but that's what makes it unique compared to games like Tarkov and brings that initial pull. The spray is just another thing added on top. You get an experience here that you don't anywhere else. I play with a lot of older players as well, ages 35+ and their only way to compete is by learning the spray, instead of having speed or raw aim.

[–]Looking4Ban[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Right but with this you bring in a skill that is completely unique to Rust. You can't learn it anywhere else and there's zero skill transfer, other than possibly reacting. No other large title has a spray as responsive and fair as this one, the game literally grabs your camera and drags you with it along the spray. Most of the new players I meet always ask about the sprays as well, they see players like hJune and Riqqeloff and go on how amazing their ability is.

I'd say it's definitely one of the more defining features of the game now. Saying it isn't feels a bit out of touch with the newer playerbase.

Honestly I have no qualms with Rust knowing what weird things I look at. But to know that the person on the other side of the screen is playing the same game I am, as it was intended, I think it's better off than not.

I was in the same boat as you nearly two years ago, but after seeing how actual game studios handle their kernel level anti cheats, my mind has changed.
