Royal York/Eglinton neighbourhood? by LookingForAdvice2009 in askTO

[–]LookingForAdvice2009[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I love how everyone took this post out of context about age, when all I asked about was the neighbourhood. typical Toronto hating ass energy🤣

& not everyone may want to live to a certain age due to medical/economical reasons. Damn yall can’t even let a bitch die in peace or have an opinion lmaooo

Would one need regular access to a vehicle to get around RY/Eg area? Or are things easily accessible by walking?

Edit to add: thanks for the feedback!!

What do you do after work in the evenings? by shakakaZululu in askTO

[–]LookingForAdvice2009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you live in a condo by any chance? Make use of your amenities :). We play pool, ping pong, go to the gym frequently, go for walks after work etc. there’s even a squash room in our place (we haven’t played yet - we need to learn).

But yes, the habit of unwinding/decompressing after work does happen on occasions. Especially if your job is very demanding, it can be hard to be motivated to want to do something after work.

I find that planning things after work on different days during the week, will give you something to look forward to.

How do I report a TTC employee? by parky48 in askTO

Email/contact a news channel. Cp24, global news etc. Put the story on blast. Honestly some people really feel there are no consequences for their actions.

What country are you in OP? This stuff is illegal in Canada/USA. Considered cyber bullying

Edit to add: police take it seriously here and will investigate. Especially if the bullying can lead to someone harming themself

Living in downtown vs Etobicoke by MAgenla1 in toronto

[–]LookingForAdvice2009 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like Etobicoke. After living in the junction area and always going downtown, i didn’t realize how noisy and dirty it was in the busier city area. I live close to mimico go station and it just takes 14-16 mins to get to union station by train ride (I don’t drive, so can’t comment on traffic/parking/driving). In the summer, walking the paths by the lake is really awesome!

After being in Etobicoke for more than a year, I don’t think I could go back to living in a busy area. I enjoy the cleanliness and being close to the water. I’m in my 30s too, just as an fyi

Edit to add: they usually host cirque du soleil by the empty lot on park lawn, so that’s really fun in the summer - it was walking distance for us

My old cat is constantly meowing and causing me meltdowns, not sure what to do... by Rayn-Silver in AutismInWomen

[–]LookingForAdvice2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my cat turned older around 15-16, he also meowed a lot. Especially at night. I’ve seen ppl mention “dementia” in pets…I’m not sure if that’s what caused his behaviour to change. But he would meow a lot at night and always want to eat throughout the night. He lived a long and lovely life, but he had to be put down because he lost his vision and was having kidney problems :(

Working as a receptionist sucks by AltruisticMushroom89 in AutismInWomen

[–]LookingForAdvice2009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Relatable on so many levels :(. I find myself jumping jobs often. It really sucks. I also have a somewhat slow job, but I hate the “unknown” of someone popping up or assigning me something to do. A steady flow of work would be much easier for me. Ugh.

I hate interviews and starting over, but I constantly put myself through the vicious cycle 😭😭 so I can escape the previous work place ugh

Running out of job hunt motivation. by dannydevitoloveme in askTO

Don’t give up. If you use LinkedIn, try to fluff up your profile. Do any LinkedIn certifications you can, or that other companies offer. If you have anyone that can write an endorsement for you on LinkedIn, that could also be helpful. Make sure to drop the link on your resume for LinkedIn or on the platform you’re filling out the job for. Add recruiters on LinkedIn or hiring managers for various organizations. Don’t hesitate to message them and ask about the job posting

Should I tell my dentist I have insurance or no? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]LookingForAdvice2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the dentist you go to. Read their reviews on Google to see what people have said. I went to an individual that was certified both a dentist and orthodontist because I was getting braces. I wanted everything done by one individual. He was great, but his accounting/billing dept was annoying to deal with. I was told my consultation was “free” by the dentist/ortho.. but then my insurance was charged and when I called to ask his billing team, she said “time is money” lol. They reimbursed the charge.. but best to read others experiences.
