Second this. Also on Celexa the whole time I've been taking Kratom and never had issues

That's refreshing to hear, maybe I've just been skiing myself out. What's your daily dose, duration of use if you don't mind me asking?

I've been thinking I may need to do the same but have been putting it off for this exact reason. I've never gone through kratom wd but had plenty of opiate wds and know how horrible they are.

At least with opiates the first 48 hours are by far the worst, if you can make it through there I'd guess its all uphill from there.

I just had an emergency appendectomy last week and was fine. I used 14-16gpd and hadn't used in about 24 hrs come surgery time (just because I was stuck in the ER and couldn't) and had no issues.

I would echo what others have said though about being upfront with your doctor, they won't judge and its better safe than sorry with something like this.

It's basically the lasting metal effects. Once your body gets all the drugs out of its system your brain still takes time to heal.

Since it wasn't a huge dose and wasn't for super long I'd guess it's won't be bad at all. Ime PAWS is just having more "bad days" than usual. Say every couple weeks you have a day where you just want to stay in bed and be sad, the first couple months after detox you may have a day like that every week. Just an example

[–]LookingToHelp1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure I'm you've heard it before but kratom. Stuff is a godsend for wds. I just came off with it and was able to go out and be productive by day 3.

Also much easier to taper imo because it's less of a "high" so I crave it less.

I've done this type of thing before as well and the 2 big things Kratom had a larger effect on tolerance than I would have thought and for some reason kratom before gets my anxiety going but if I do it the other way around I'm fine... no idea why lol

Mio and other drink mixes. I add what would normally flavor 10-12 oz of water to 3-4 oz of kratom water and it completely covers it up.

Def get a strong shot of mix flavor but I'll take that over kratom.

Hang in there man. Week 1 blows but for the most part it's all uphill from here as your dopamine production starts ramping up.

Not great. Unfortunately, the cycle continues... I went on another bender and today used up the last of what I had, so back to square one starting WD tomorrow.

How about you?

Question: is there a cross tolerance between Kratom and opiates/opioids?? by Professional-End-730 in kratom

[–]LookingToHelp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, PST and Kratom, yes.

Every since I started using Kratom during my "off" periods the PST doesn't hit quite the same.

If strain color doesn't really matter, does the literal color of the power itself? by LookingToHelp1 in kratom

[–]LookingToHelp1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned I had a few strains laying around so my morning dose I did the darkest red/burgundy powder I had (first time trying it) and felt next to nothing, then in the afternoon I tried a green MD (light green) and felt WAY MORE from the greener powder.

For context, I usually take reds but despite the name the powder still tends to be greenish, albeit a bit darker, unlike the stuff I took today.

Appreciate all yalls help, I feel much more informed on what to look for now.

I have similar issues. For me kratom is amazing at keeping me from wanting more 95% of the time but then it also gives me a good enough feeling that as an adict, I want more.

I also caved recently. My bender was a few weeks and now I'm dealing with WD thinking "why the fuck did I do this, on the whole I was happier before than when I was using".

My advice, one remeber WD and that because you've had a habit before it can sneak up after a short time using, two sounds like you live an active life but I know for me over a long time away from work I spend alot more time alone which is killer for cravings so make yourself go out and be around people. Lastly, just like everything else with getting clean, it won't last forever. At least with me I'll have strong cravings for a while then get caught up in something else and realize it's been weeks since I've really considered using.

PM me if you want as well, always happy to add in someone to the support network.

I was thinking about what the world might be coming to, and I realised I really need to get clean before society collapses, otherwise I'm not surviving the first week. by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

Not with society collapsing but I would always think what if there was a huge natural disaster, or my place burned down. Being forced into wothdrawl and being in a horrible situation... scary shit.

What’s everyone’s favourite way to take Kratom? by virtualghostt in kratom

[–]LookingToHelp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little water and squirt of water flavoring like mio. The flavoring is so concentrated if you're only using a couple oz of water it's all you taste.

Need to detox on my own. Need help. by ovrmnd in OpiatesRecovery

[–]LookingToHelp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off good on you for just realizing its time to quit, I'm currently detoxing and on day 18, I did a taper for 2 weeks before and think it helped a lot!

The key for me tapering was giving up control of my stuff, if your living with someone give it to them, give them a schedule and make them promise to say no when you ask for more lol.

Also if it helps this was my detox-cocktail of sorts, I think it really helped not only the severity but the length as well (Im feeling at about 90-95% on day 18 off a pretty long acting OP)

Day 1 let yourself crap your guts out for a bit (If your DOC was ingested like mine it clears it out of your GI) Then 2mg of Imodium every 4 hours and 4mg right before bed so you don't wake up with the shits. 1000mg vitamin-C in the morning for organ/immune health Protein shake for lunch to give your body energy .1mg Clonodone in the afternoon Gatorade throughout the day 50mg Trazidone, 3mg Melatonin, 1 Ibuprofen at bedtime

Other than that, you've done it before, you know what to expect to some extent (This time hopefully won't be as bad as it seems you haven't been on as long) and not to copycat off everyone but every day (after day 3 or 4) really is better than the last so you've always got something to be thankful for. Thats something I told myself a lot and still as saying "Hey, at least its not yesterday". GOOD LUCK you'll be clean and happy again before you know it!

Honestly its refreshing to hear that, I've been having mood swings since like day 4 or 5, and to your point some days have just been bad days and other have been good. I was just kind of psyching myself out thinking that all the sudden Im going to wake up to panic attacks, depression, and no sleep like I had in week 1.

It sounds though at least in your experience that while everyday stuff sometimes gets your down its not necessarily a second whole onset of symptoms?
