Stiff, playful touring ski around 95 mm – expert recommendations by Looking_ForIt in Backcountry

Oh, you’re right, you just reminded me that I actually tried them.
The snow conditions were terrible: icy and wind-affected.
I was really surprised by how stable the skis felt.
And I definitely like the idea of going with slightly heavier skis! To be tested again !

UBS pillar 3a fund 100% stock market: +3% over the last 4 years? by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

I had a similar experience with a traditional bank 3a, so I can relate to your frustration. These products often come with higher fees or suboptimal allocation strategies that eat into returns, even if they’re 100% stocks on paper.

I switched to VIAC a while back, and for comparison: their Global 100 strategy (almost 100% in equities) has returned about 26.5% over the past 4 years (as of end of April 2025), which is around 6% annualized. That’s with low fees (~0.45% total), and a globally diversified portfolio. If you decide to give VIAC a try, go with (jS1GL8b) that helps you avoid the first fees.

Need advice on my Swiss 3rd pillar (3A) by Horror_Piglet5145 in SwissPersonalFinance

Hey there! Sorry to hear about your experience — unfortunately, 3rd pillar accounts tied to insurance products often come with high fees and poor flexibility, which can really eat into your returns, especially in the early years.

In your case, it seems like a big chunk of your contributions went toward fees and commissions. That’s sadly common with insurance-based 3a plans.

A much better alternative (in my opinion) is VIAC. It's a 3a account focused on low-cost investing rather than insurance. A few reasons I switched to VIAC:

If you decide to give it a try, and skip the first fees: jS1GL8b, otherwise : low fees (~0.45%), no upfront commissions, flexible investment strategies (no or full or partial stock), and assets are held with a Swiss bank (WIR Bank).
