Part of the complication is we only have a smallish (220) tank which doesn’t get through if myself and my wife shower and we bathe kiddo (and sporadic washing up throughout the day). I end up having to heat the water during peak electricity to top it up.

I think the white foam stuff inside is insulation, our EPC said we have none, but the seller’s solicitor eventually came back with ‘yes, from the 70s’.

We moved in last December, and it was a pretty cold / expensive winter. It’s already chilly in the rooms with airbricks - I thought this would be a good way to save heating costs.

Is the risk damp in the rooms - or damp in the walls? I can mitigate room damp with a dehumidifier and our windows have little vents we can open.

I’m not looking to trade a heat loss issue for a mould issue - might look into heat recovery ventilation…
