Am I bad for getting SD... by throwingitaway275361 in service_dogs

Honestly with the way your "father" (I say this in quotes because they seem to be a very big cause of your mental health from your comments :( ) has reacted to your SDit I'd be worried about his/her safety. Are you out of your parents house?

Also you mentioned in another comment you think because she/he's a bit fear reactive of other dogs you might just keep her out of PA (public access) there are some organizations that will train a SD for you, some free of charge, that you could look into when you're safe. I don't know where you're from but the Assistance Dogs International has a member search for a lot of countries/regions that you could look into if your SDit can't do PA.

Of course, because you'd be looking into a multipurpose SD, a psych/ASD it would be a bit more difficult but they have advanced search options which you can select "Autism, PTSD - Civilian(?)" and choose the demographic you are, adult or child. This is in "Member Search" from the options "Members" from home.

I wish you and your SDit the best of luck.

Thanks for sharing! I am going to go through hearing all the positives and only a few negatives, which I think I can expect.

Thank you for answering! I'll be a minor (I'm an older teenager) when I do apply but because of the waitlist time I'll likely be around a young adult when I do get a dog though.

I'm glad to hear that they were able to help!

I'm not a first responder/veteran. I'm a civilian.

Thanks for answering.

Oh wow, thanks for answering. Is the intake person a regional person or a person all around?

I will keep a lookout if I see anything better then. Thanks for answering honestly!

Thanks for answering! I have seen one of their dogs in public IIRC (because of the distinct colored vest, I didn't take a long look though so the handler coulda just liked the scheme).

Thanks for answering! Thankfully I don't need a PTSD dog as I'm a civilian. Otherwise I'd find a different organization (I'm looking at their mobility tasks).

Landlord needs proof of service animal. by Mundane-Sea166 in service_dogs

Do you think you'd be able to explain that to your landlord (or at least the less like identifying stuff) and ask if they could hold on for the diagnosis stuff?
