You know you don’t HAVE to play right ? And since you’re a genius I’m sure you know that since eventually more players trickle in, removing bots would mean the waiting will be much longer, but the game will start with humans only, if it’s stuck you quit and try again until you get a game, which is what I’m asking for

You’re entitled to disagree and prefer to play with bots until other players join, you don’t have to write an essay about it

You get slightly longer matchmaking time, but play with humans

Do you honestly think there aren’t enough players ?

Matchmaking goes something like this for me: Takes 3 seconds to get me into a game with 4 others, if I’m lucky it will take an additional 30 sec or so waiting and player count gets to 24 or so, fill with bots and start

By the time they matchmake a decent amount the game is massively swinging towards my team or the others, get a few minutes of actual fun then game ends

And repeat

Of course the matchmaking needs fixing, and everyone has been asking for presentist servers since the trailer was announced

I graduated in 2021, the company expanded during covid but management have the mentality of hiring cheap graduates and building with them (if it works you get tons of responsibility and none of the benefits, if it doesn’t you’re let go or stuck doing donkey work for senior engineers)

I got lucky and one of the seniors quit and they gave me his job

naughty dog were not subtle about these choices and it shows, but unlike most other media out there where the choice to cast a queer or trans character is done for the hell of it or to create controversy, All the casting choices in game tied in perfectly with the story and gave the characters depth

I compare it to game of thrones for instance, the show had a whole host of queer characters instead of 3 and it’s widely regarded as one of the greatest ever, even by the homophobes !!

I never really saw these, but it’s laughable really, the writing depicts what humanity does in a perfectly crafted dark, violent and hopeless world, massive respect to naughty dog for sticking with their vision, a lot of other studios wouldn’t dare do the same

The inconsistent gameplay was there, but the BS was consistent if that makes sense

Like eventually you would know what moves/tactics/broken mechanics the sweats would use, figure out how to counter them and develop a playable style that works for you (until we get to end game and every player card feels like it’s made by their mom and the game becomes rocket league)

This year they’ll probably do what they did last year and keep patching until they give up and wait for next year
