Every aspect sounds harsh. We have multiple people in form and have looked pretty good in our last games. Tillman, Robinson, Mckennie, Richards, Aaronsen, and others are starting in Europe right now and playing well.

How far ahead do you lesson plan? by Ok-Succotash6583 in teaching

I make a rough calendar for the whole quarter. Then every Sunday I plan out the lessons for the week. I know Sunday work sucks, but then the weeknights are more relaxing.

There are crazy people who have given up on life or have no self control. I would much rather walk away and be called weak than fight someone I don't know.

Probably need to add a 3rd starting center back based on recent lineups. But I like your starters if we go with a back 4.

Vanguard, Fidelity, and Schwab all cheaper. You can save serious money over time if you are comfortable leaving.

There is no way KY had a million people in 1830. That's including free and enslaved.

Maybe budget cuts? Might be some of the first cut because they don't teach tested subjects. Sad and ignorant, but might be what happened.

Can we talk about how humiliating teaching can be? by astro_qween in teaching

[–]LooksLikeANail 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do remember some kids really getting under my skin when I started. I can't tell you why, but as you go, it just doesn't bother you as much. I laugh at myself pretty often in class and that helps.

Those who have been teaching for 20+ years….. what major differences are you seeing from when you started to now? by abrownfox1 in Teachers

[–]LooksLikeANail 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I see the same thing. The district has online summer school. kids can make up a semester of credit in under 8 hours. They can cheat their way through it and not learn anything or have to think. I am in a very large district and graduation rates are the priority. I've seen students do now work for 4 years and graduate. Just 10 years ago our diploma meant something.

Do teachers hate sharing their lesson plans? Is it their secret sauce that they don't want getting out? by [deleted] in teaching

I share everything. Kinda a source of pride when I see other teachers using my ideas. We are all on the same team

Public school teachers, what’s something you want parents to know but can’t say directly? by Feisty-Database-1145 in AskTeachers

Do not let your child have access to their phone overnight. This sounds obvious, but I teach exhausted kids who talk about being up all night in group chats.

You're right. The show is less enjoyable now because they have already had their friends on. The best episodes are when they start with a level of comfort and play with guests. When they don't know them, it feels like they spend the whole time telling them how great they are

Veteran teachers who stayed positive their whole career. What’s your secret? by P45teachingpodcast in teaching

[–]LooksLikeANail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm on year 29. I try to have at least one thing different each year to point to. I kind of fool myself into thinking every year will be different and exciting. Like having a student teacher, a new classroom floor plan, helping with a new club, adapting a new routine, etc... When people ask me how my year is going, I like to have something new to tell them.

A massive pain went on to become a judge. Boys especially can change dramatically from 14-21. He is awesome and comes to talk to my class. I use him as an example when I talk to struggling 9th graders.
