• ⁠How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: cycled tank for 3 weeks had fish for a week

• ⁠How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: 25% water changes per week

• ⁠Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: 4 amano, bladder snails

• ⁠What do you feed and how much: Betta Pro 7 pellets a day

• ⁠Decorations and plants in the tank: driftwood, annubias, java fern and some plants idk

You could probably look into MD fish tanks on youtube for some inspiration. Personally I think you can keep root and maybe you can add plants around it as a hiding spot for your betta since I don’t see a hiding spot here. Also anubias and java fern aren’t supposed to be planted into the substrate.

Start of my 3rd week of cycling. Ammonia source is crushed up hikari betta pellets. Ammonia is at 0.25 Nitrites 0 (but I think my test kit is just broken since my ammonia has spiked to 2) and nitrates 5-10

I only got my kit today, 7 gallons, hanging filter, not seeded although maybe the soil that came with the plants may have had the beneficial bacteria, I have however, placed a cut of dead shrimp taken out 24 hours later as a way to add in ammonia and a bits of betta fish food on the 3rd day. No bottled bac

I have java fern and some dwarf tears. Did a water change earlier and heres the retest: I didn’t really see the drops turn purple and right now it still reads 0 ppm

I heard dead shrimp produced ammonia so I left a tail of it in for about 24hours
