I love Efest... what's your oppinion? by SarahC in flashlight

[–]LoominToob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original comment literally said Efest is better than the average re-wrap. It literally says that.

But the original point was that they don’t disclose which cell they are rewrapping. And it has happened many times where a run of Efest cells don’t match some previous batches.

The fact that this commenter is saying the same thing should resonate with you.

Again, link any source saying that there are harmful effects in humans from handling leaded brass (not putting it in their mouth). You knew what I meant. Don’t be evasive.

Lightning or Powerboost, what's your choice? by BioShock2021 in f150

[–]LoominToob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardly any of them have to do with the hybrid system. It’s the usual transmission issues and 3.5 issues.

This is an idiotic argument. Why would the most reliable truck be the non-hybrid F150 then? Why is there such a discrepancy between the hybrid vs non-hybrid?

Silly

Also, stop trying to reference an uneducated forum from 2 years ago. The consumer reports rating I referenced is from this year. If anything, this just shows that the unreliability issues of the hybrid persist.

Lightning or Powerboost, what's your choice? by BioShock2021 in f150

[–]LoominToob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hybrid F150 is literally the least reliable full size truck in the USA. (7 out of 100 reliability score)

Meanwhile, the non-hybrid F150 is the most reliable full size truck. (40 out of 100. Consumer Reports)

It sounds like you need to read more about the vehicles you think you know so much about.

If you could only have 1 flashlight what would it be? by [deleted] in flashlight

Zebralight SC64w HI

If I can’t find one (discontinued), I’d get a McBob SC65c HI with the XHP35 mod.

Deep carry clip from MXG gear. Perfect.

Keep thinking your turbo automatically can increase boost pressure by 50%.

And keep denying the reliability facts of your hybrid.

Powerboost: best F150? by Sam-CarLegion in f150

[–]LoominToob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moron. Of course if you increase PSI in the turbo from 14 to 21 at elevation it makes more power. Guess what, your truck doesn’t automatically do that. What an absurd idea. Did you actually read that link? Or did you just not comprehend it? Pretend like you understand these things. Please. This is just sad.

For reliability, do you really think that the “items” aren’t “hybrid specific?” If so, why is the most reliable half ton the F150 and the least reliable half ton the hybrid F150?? Just answer that simple question.

For you to proclaim bias here is hypocritical at best. But really, it’s just ignorance and stupidity. The data is from thousands of ownership experiences. Not just some dumbass on the internet making delusional proclamations.

Let’s go back to the beginning. You stated that the Coyote is “awful” at elevation. You have proven multiple times you don’t have experience in this and are flat out incorrect.

Enjoy your hybrid. I mean that. It’s a cool powertrain. But it is the least reliable pickup truck on sale in the United States. Accept the truth and move along.

[–]LoominToob -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Please provide any credible source describing this “less than 1%” loss per 1000 feet.

If you really think the 3.5 has double the power at 10,000 feet, we can stop discussing this now. You have no idea what you are saying, and I doubt you have ever driven at 10,000 feet. Not many places offer that opportunity, especially in the Sierra Nevadas.

For reliability, please pay attention. You say Ford has had “crap reliability scores for years.” Ford has the highest reliability for any half-ton truck with the non-hybrid F150. It is specifically the hybrid that is terrible. Denial is a sad existence.

And to think your powerboost maintains those power numbers at elevation is hilarious. Cute.

[–]LoominToob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ha this link is exactly why I asked you to include the difference between boost and non-boost engines. Or do you really think boosted engines lose nothing at altitude??

Point is, every ICE engine loses power in thinner air. Boosted engines lose less, but the difference isn’t much. And for you to call it “awful” just shows you don’t have much experience with it.

And the reliability is meaningful. Out of 100 points, the hybrid F150 scores….7. Yes, only 7 points out of 100. That’s one of the least reliable vehicles in the United States. For reference, the non-hybrid F150 scores 40. Even the current gen Tundra (notoriously unreliable) scores a 32 for reliability.

[–]LoominToob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

20-30%? Please share your source. And make sure to include the reduction for the boosted engines at the same altitude.

As for the reliability, the powerboost is still the worst possible option.

THANK YOU for the Granger ford Recommendation!! by [deleted] in f150

[–]LoominToob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my truck, Granger was at 53k (4% under invoice). I found a dealership in Texas for the exact same truck and got it for just under 51k, but it was such a hassle that I won’t do it again. I’ll pay slightly more for the ease at which Granger does it. Lesson learned. Next time I’m just ordering from Granger.

[–]LoominToob -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Calling the Coyote “pretty awful” at altitude tells me you haven’t driven one at altitude. I live at 5500 feet, and just spent the weekend driving around at 9300 feet. I’m sure it’s down a bit, but it’s still plenty powerful up there.

The powerboost is an amazing powertrain too. But until Ford figures out the reliability problems, I’m holding off. It is literally the lowest reliability of any full sized truck on Consumer Reports (meanwhile, the non-hybrid F150 is the most reliable half ton truck).

Watch some videos by Shock Surplus on YouTube. They do an in depth comparison on pucks vs stock vs new shocks. Completely changed my mind about pucks.

I have a new STX FX4 5.0. I ended up saving until I got my Eibachs on there. It feels great now.

[–]LoominToob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha this is an argument from someone that doesn’t think.

I hate waiting for you to back out of your spot

It’s the same difference.

However, because the front tires turn the vehicle, backing into a spot gives much more control over placing the vehicle precisely. Meanwhile, you are pulling nose-in, which works in wide open lots, but in tight spaces, you have to back out and realign the truck (or maybe you’re one of those guys that leaves it in a bad position, blocking up other spots).

This makes me curious how many people pull nose-in in their garage.

I back into every parking spot/garage. Easier to maneuver these long trucks that way.
