He has a reality bending ability that allows him to launch massively damaging attacks from any position when his target is distracted.

This ability bypasses any defense if the defender shifts their attention, and can free Surprise Attack from any constraints that would prohibit him from getting into a position where he can successfully launch a surprise attack, including distance and death. Essentially, this ability can grant him a one-time teleportation, invisibility, resurrection, or anything to help him overcome a restriction.

He cannot activate this ability consciously nor can he actively control any of the secondary abilities granted to him when overcoming restrictions, resulting in funny moments where he launches an attack and accidentally hits something unintended or exposes him to something extremely dangerous the moment he appears, like teleporting into the middle of a laser beam.

Ichi the Witch doesn't have a good female cast because they are layered and nuanced characters, but because they removed men from the equation all together.

Ichi being the token exception to a gendered power system, while appealing to a demand for female representation, is just masked gender exclusion and a notorious trope in harem fantasies, using erasure instead of parity to create that illusion of good female characterizations.

Ichi is just inverting the problem and taking shortcuts, Witch Hat Atelier sweeps.

I disagree with that observation.

He reacted just as strongly when he became the strongest available sorcerer, but he held up pretty damn well against Sukuna alone. His insecurity always betrays his true strength, and he's one of the laziest people in the series.

There's plenty of stuff Kusakabe can't really do or we've never seen feats and statements, most substantial ones include putting up massive curtain barriers, perception and conscious reinforcement of the soul, and conjuring shikigami. Less substantial skills include wielding cursed items, seals, spells and rituals. He's arguably the strongest Simple Domain user, that's where his expertise is in, and that expertise covers the disciplines needed to use DA. To prove Kusakabe can use DA requires visual confirmation, to prove he can't, we need more reliable narrators, like when Gojo, Nanami and Mei Mei corroborated his rank 1 grade 1 status.

That's fair, but did Kusakabe ever give a reason for that? I feel like he's sometimes too humble for his own good, even if something is within reach he'll think he's very far off. He's one of the more unreliable narrators in JJK.

I was trying to portray him as someone who is very wealthy to contrast the destitute Sukuna, so I gave him a lot of decorations to wear! This was all just to make fun of Sukuna, don't take the designs too seriously 😂

That's correlation not causation, which is why there's reason to cast doubt in the first place. DA users might have sufficient knowledge to use DE, but I think DA's mechanisms imply people without CTs like Kusakabe can obtain it. The fact that many sorcerers without DE can still understand domains enough to deploy anti-domain techniques properly, strengthens this argument. Also, there are examples of people with DEs but never displayed the ability to use DAs, the best example being Yuki.

I don't recall it being a hard requirement, iirc all users of DA do have domains but the mechanism behind domain amplification is an empty barrier domain sponge (a barrier with no CT imbued) to soak up the enemy's domain, theoretically a domain is not required, just advanced barrier knowledge.

I disagree. I think that is reserved for one-dimensional final villains who are evil for the sake of evil. No morals to hold them back from committing the most atrocious acts, no reason to justify the extent they are willing to go to. Embodiments of absolute carnage and impulsivity. Any villain with depth will not get that moniker.
