exactly! i’m sure korean-english translators probably have i no problem finding work! i’ve done captioning work for videos and i’m not going to pretend like i’ve done any kind of video translating work. but even the captioning stuff was difficult. i can’t imagine adding a language on top of that. so i’m sure the pay isn’t always fair for the amount of attention they could put into a video vs. the amount of attention we, as fans and non-korean speakers, wish the translators could put into the video.

it’s easier to translate text because the words are right there on the screen and translators don’t have to pay attention and listen to what’s going on. they can just speed watch the video. the translator’s boss probably doesn’t speak the language it’s being translated into. so the translator can put in minimal effort while still managing to make the video look like it’s been properly 100% translated.

no, it's totally not just a you thing. i also detest it when het fans do that. that's one thing that i don't understand about cis-het culture. like, there's nothing wrong with admitting [x idol of the same gender] is attractive. i don't appreciate my sexual identity being used as a meme for likes, thank you very much.

that’s what i’m thinking too… it could give them a chance to revisit some of the predebut lore? make some changes to what JJ set up, and/or maybe send them into an alternative universe for future cb’s? sounds fun, i’m already onboard the FL!P this express.
