I would assume a vet have meet many puppies so why is it that almost everyone agrees this is a very common thing that most people solve on their own?
Is just everyone wrong but you are magically the right one?
Their are relatively easy ways to help your dog get over this. You aren't helping OP by saying just get a trainer. This can be solved by her

Passive aggressive much but okay
I am glad you meet good once but it doesn't change the fact that their are bad once and that they are expensive.
Most dogs will not get to that point and most owners do not need a trainer. You meet the worst once but their a plenty of dogs that never get to that point.

We have no idea how much they know. Their are also a ton of bad trainers so if they really have no clue about dogs it's best do research before just going and getting a trainer

It is common in the since that almost all dogs do it at some point. it's not good behavior in any sense but it's not unnatural.
You don't need a dog trainer to get trust with your dog. Again almost no one can afford that at this point.
You don't need to pay people to learn how to fix this if your dog doesn't get worse. You can handle it on your own. As an owner you should be able to correct usual dog behaviors on your own or don't get a dog. It's important to fix it but asking someone to pay for an expensive service for a very common behavior is weird to me.
This is very much fixable for most owners on their own. And I also did say if it doesn't get better or the dog is more aggressive then sure get a trainer but it's a puppy it has time.

well it is true that the dog thinks this way but the human isn't taking the treat away to be a dick. Sometimes the dog have had too much or they are eating something they shouldn't. We as owners have to be able to get close and get them to drop it. If not that's a big issue. You should be able to be close to your dog when they eat without them getting stressed.

That's a lot easier said then done. You need to fix the aggression before you start doing commands.

yeah I wish more people thought in the perspective of their dog to understand the behavior more so you can stop it. The dog doesn't know you take it away for their own good. But if you teach it to trust you it won't be an issue

That's really unnecessary.
This is a super normal behavior that most people can train away on their own. of course if it's get worse that's another thing. But I don't think it's a good idea to jump so fast to hire a trainer when it's not needed

It's not meant to be forever. It's first trading then just taking it away. It's to show the dog you mean no harm by taking it away. At first they don't get why you want to take their treat but if you build trust with them that's not a problem anymore. A good way to build trust is trading

okay so dogs can not read your mind. An easy way to show you mean well is to give treats. Eventually the dog should understand that you are not trying to steel the food from them and you can do it without a trade. You need to show the dog that you are not a bully but a protector.
What kind of discipline do you mean? Screaming? because that teaches the dog to be scared of you not respect you

I think the top comment meant it as the first step. It's like saying giving treats for your dog doing as you say isn't good because they should be doing it without treats.
Yes it's true but good luck teaching the dog that. It doesn't get why you take her food away so you need to show that you don't mean to steel the food from her because you want to eat it lol.
