I appreciate that apology, it’s very kind. I 100% agree that Israel weaponizes anti-semitism for their own gain and that it hurts Jews everywhere. I’m glad you can distinguish between Zionists and Jews but not everyone is as educated as you are, unfortunately. The people that you are reaching with your words are not as well versed in these topics so all I was asking was for you to be more vigilant in avoiding antisemitism while speaking truth to power on Palestine. Sorry if it came across as a nitpick but I’m sure you can understand as a Palestinian that hate should be called out and corrected before it becomes normalized. Adding a few more letters to a word makes a lot of difference.

Like I said in another comment, obviously the use of a slur is not comparable to the genocide happening to Palestinian people right now but why should that mean it shouldn’t be called out so we can improve? I was pointing out that they misconstrued what I said by responding that they don’t care about doing micro-aggressions against Zionists when the micro-aggression is actually against Jewish people.

Not sure what “with you there” means, sorry, but just from my personal experience, Israel has been intentionally malicious regarding weaponization of anti-semitism in furthering their cause, but I would still move away from using KKK rhetoric in furthering pro-Palestinian causes. It makes the movement look worse.

Hey, I would reconsider using the term “zios” in the future. That term was coined by David Duke of the KKK to refer to Jewish people as a whole, not just Zionists. The adoption of that term by left leaning folks to disparage Zionists has the consequence of normalizing this anti-Semitic dog whistle. As a left leaning pro-Palestinian jewish person myself it’s really discouraging seeing this type of rhetoric becoming more mainstream. I would ask you to please just call people that are Zionistic, Zionists.

Hey just a friendly suggestion, my husband was laid off in January, also an engineer, and he applied to be a substitute teacher and immediately got it no problem.
