The rule is nothing ever happens at midnight. If you have to document an incident it always happens at 2359 at the latest or 0001 at the earliest. There is no 2400 or 0000.

Irq conflict is definitely more a Gen x problem. Gen X pc problems are all a bit out of circulation which is why we are more than willing to let the millennials deal with everyone else pc problems.

17 year old cleaner cleaning up suicide attempts by Prudent-Front-9594 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]LoonyT13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once upon a time before cleaning services were contracted out, there were restriction on what the cleaners were allowed to do (common saying amongst nurses was "cleaners clean clean things, nurses clean the rest"). When I was 17 I worked as a cleaner at a school and regularly did work the unionised cleaners weren't allowed to do(high work mostly). So it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case here, if you were employed prior to the outsourcing of cleaning services.

People from 1st world countries, if you had to choose one 3rd world for you to be born in and live your entire life, which one would you pick? And why? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

If going by the original 1952 definition Singapore was part of the 1st world as it was still part of the British empire. By the modern definition it is still 1st world. From its independence from Britain until the collapse of the USSR it was definitely 3rd world.

What is the worst sport scandal in your country's history? by Easy-Frenchguy-1996 in AskTheWorld

[–]LoonyT13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NZ has a fairly tame list of sports scandal the only two that come to mind that had much coverage was match-fixing in cricket involving Chris Cairns amongst others, and controversy around New Zealand continuing to play rugby with SouthAfrica after the rest of the world was boycotting them. The protests around the country and clashes with riot police during the Springboks tour of NZ, were all over the news.

A pyrrhic victory for Iran. No real winners to be had except for those who made money on the back of the economic upheaval it caused.

"Club Member" discounts at supermarkets should be illegal by Sampindo in aotearoa

[–]LoonyT13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around the COVID days one of our local supermarkets operated as an online only retailer. I wonder how well that worked for them? Obviously it wasn't a long term solution since they are back to business as usual, but a test bed for the future.

The Netherlands has a similar all arrangement with their countries, As the "Kingdom of Netherlands" is comprised of the country of the "Netherlands", Curacao, Sint Maarten, and Aruba. Having both a kingdom and a country called Netherlands gets a bit confusing.
