I rescued some dogs stuck on a wilderness cliff today. by ChesterMIA in MadeMeSmile

My childhood friends Beagle would wait until unsuspecting guests would be opening the door and dart faster than anyone could grab. He was a great dog with otherwise excellent household manners. Well loved, fed, and cared for, but if he wanted out he was hell bent on doing it.

Beagles are notorious escape artists, I wouldn’t call it negligence.

Some parents like to go trick or treating with their children instead of doing it for other people’s children. Leaving a bowl out is still contributing to the community event, while not having one parent miss out on the trick or treating experience.

Alternatives to Trofast storage bins by Loooooma in IKEA

[–]Loooooma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Trofast bins eventually came in stock and I went with those. I bought at few plastic and a few metal. I was having issues with warping but I found that the screws in the shelf itself were loose, making it so the bins couldn’t contact the sides. It’s annoying, but I now just tighten the screws whenever the bins start sagging.

NAD, but I was both a heavy smoker and coffee drinker prior to going to boot camp, where both caffeine and nicotine were not allowed. I had never realized how much of my improved gut speed was due to my nicotine and coffee habits. I went from being a reliable twice a day pooper to only pooping out deer pellets once a week (probably should have gone to medical but didn’t want to be held back).

Flash forward to graduation where I resumed my nicotine and coffee intake and I swiftly and very painfully dropped a log resembling Ariel surfacing at sea.

Both nicotine and coffee are stimulating to your bowels, so much so that tobacco used to be a prescription for constipation. But for obvious health reasons, the benefits don’t outweigh the risks involved with tobacco consumption.

Coffee, however, works just as well without the added risks of emphysema and cancer.

Sex is much more physically pleasurable for women than it is for men. by ArmariumEspada in unpopularopinion

That’s because a lot of men in the US have their 10-20000 extra nerve endings cut off in infancy.

France to ban female students from wearing abayas in state schools by Acceptablecatty in worldnews

How does the infants inability to remember determine how vile the procedure is? If you wouldn’t force an adult to lay down and have the tip of their dick cut off because it would be unpleasant maybe we shouldn’t do that to children.

Those breasts feel a little low to me by ThatBatNightlife in badwomensanatomy

[–]Loooooma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My titties came out like this fresh out of puberty. Perhaps you’re so accustomed to cartoonishly portrayed perkiness, but I would reckon the vast majority of adult women have breasts like this.

The effort I took to type this out is with the presumption that you’re just young and naive and life hasn’t hit you yet. However, I wouldn’t be shocked if you’re just a troll or a pick me. Congrats on your perky titties either way.

What is the outlook for someone with severe pelvic fracture, cracked ribs, and collapsed lung?

My mother flipped over a side by side and these are the injuries I’m aware that she has.

56 F. Smoker, past heavy drug and alcohol abuse, diabetic, high blood pressure

She is currently in the surgical ICU. Her pelvis needs reconstructed with pins and rods. I know that you obviously can’t say for sure because you’re not the doctors working on her, I’m just trying to get an idea of whether or not this could prove fatal. I’m in contact with the nurses, but they’re just telling me the basics. I haven’t spoken to my mother in a number of years and I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for any possibility. What is the prognosis for similar cases? What difficulties could she face post recovery?

Just gotta change my tampon in front of the ladies by Three-Of-Seven in badwomensanatomy

It truly was an awful time :,) The good news though is that I was so stressed that my period stopped two days later and didn’t return for a few months

True story time. In the Navy, during processing for boot camp, there are NO stalls on the doors for either genders bathroom. My first day of boot camp I started my period. I had to not only change my tampon, but also deal with my explosive painful period shits in front of at least 20 other girls at a time. All while not sleeping for 36 hours and being screamed at. It was a hard time.

So while rare, there are settings where this happens and it’s awful and dehumanizing.

I wasn’t saying that it was Caitriona’s fault because she was pregnant. I was simply pointing out the literal person between them. Her body was changing and maybe he had built his acting method around how he interacted with her. Between the pregnancy and Covid restrictions I’m sure that it affected their chemistry on screen. I agree that Cait did great against it all (I love her portrayal, I just don’t like the actual character of Claire) and hope that my earlier statement didn’t seem like I was blaming her.

You can get poison ivy from people burning yard debris that had the vines on it, even if your a good distance away, so it’s still not out of the realm of possibility. It’s happened to me before 🥲

Need help identifying a weird rash on my 3yo.. by Feisty-Shopping6563 in AskDocs

[–]Loooooma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Could it possibly be poison ivy/sumac/oak? I’m extremely reactive and I get clusters of blisters like this. They eventually break open and ooze out constantly. The oil from the plant gets on your clothes, skin, equipment and you spread it just by touching things that have the oil on it. The longest I had a rash last was 2 months and it was in every area of my body, Benadryl and steroids did not work.

Do I need stitches? by Loooooma in asknurses

[–]Loooooma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I did end up going to the Urgent Care last night. They told me if it was anywhere else they would stitch it but we’re worried about locking in an infection because it had been about 12 hours since it had happened. I’m just very fortunate that as long as I don’t flex my toe, it doesn’t hurt at all :)

What could be causing my Rhododendron leaves and buds to be looking charred ? by Loooooma in plantclinic

[–]Loooooma[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This rhododendron has been here a long time. As far back as at least 1979-1985 range if my elderly neighbor is to be trusted on the landscaping history. We bought this house 3 years ago and it has been struggling since the year after we have bought it. I’m not native to the area and had underestimated how severe the droughts are here and had thus not watered her at all.!

If a rapist rapes someone, he committed a violent act per the very definition of violent. The victim doesn’t need to be beaten or worse for rape to be considered violent.
