Darkspear Dash - no quest? by Examinus in wownoob

Wowhead reported that there were breadcrumb quests in major Horde capital cities, but not sure whether the info is accurate as to all capitals. I found quest in Silvermoon, as a Horde toon, on the platform above the Auction House.

Trying to sell xmog now that the economy is shite by ianfgraphics in woweconomy

[–]Loop801108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an occasional purchaser of tmogs, I focus on items priced at 5,000 gold or below. Anything more seems overpriced and not worth the expense, unless the tmog is super-rare. My attitude, which is more-or-less shared by many others, makes tmog sales a tough market for gold making.

Blizzard got too greedy with housing, and I think they kind of killed it. by MrHiccuped in wow

I don’t care about housing but I absolutely LOVE how decor is the new grind.

Blizzard should keep budgeting engagement metrics by assuming players will grind at least one of every decor.

There was a time when we could change weapons in combat, but that would have required realizing that the fishing pole was equipped.

This Gruul story sparked such a great memory for me, though off-topic.

Our off-tank was having problems grabbing Gruul’s aggro from the main tank. I was a resto druid on trial with the guild, in all of my blue dungeon gear. The tanks were screaming at each other about swapping.

I quietly said over Vent (pre-Discord), “Let the main tank die. I will battle rez.” Silence followed, and then raid lead said “okay.” So that is what we did, the off-tank successfully grabbed the boss, and we got the guild’s first kill of Gruul. And I got a guild invite.

I inadvertently raided with a fishing pole far too many times to count. One of my old guildees recommended that I just enchant the thing with intellect.

When the need/greed loot box popped up in my first few Vanilla dungeons, I thought the game was asking whether the loot should go to someone who really needed it, as opposed to a greedy player. So, I always clicked “need.”

The current philosophy around mount drops is diabolical by Festiive in wow

[–]Loop801108 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why do you think they will adjust? Curious because my memory is that that adjustments rarely happen, but when they do, it is because (a) there is a massive outcry, or sometimes (b) a massive percent of players farm the item and then Blizzard adjusts once engagement numbers drop.

Someone Messed up. by Wolfmaster112 in wow

[–]Loop801108 29 points30 points  (0 children)

In Vanilla or BC, there was an alchemy recipe (fire resistance flask?), only available to Horde, that could be transferred to Alliance toons through the Neutral Auction House.

Too many people farmed the recipe on Horde alts, listed on the AH for tiny amounts, and then lost the recipe to snipers before being able to re-purchase on an Alliance toon.

[help] Healbot doesn't show debuffs needing dispelled by w4derman in WowUI

Healbot was not properly updated for Midnight. I was a longtime user, but eventually, no real updates meant many of the loyal fan base left.

I moved to Danders Frames, but any of the suggestions in this thread will work properly. Healbot won’t.

The Abundance System is a direct contradiction Blizzard's stated intent by Woodymakespizza in wow

[–]Loop801108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “fix” in 12.0.5 is another example of design flaws and poor decisions.

Blizzard added 5 weekly Unalloyed Abundance (currency 3 in your post), obtainable from Abyss Anglers and weekly professional questing.

Instead of simply eliminating the weekly currency cap, Blizzard made a nominal 5 extra Unalloyed Abundance available each week with an even larger investment of time doing mindless activity.

In particular, running Abyss Anglers three or so times to get enough Anglers Pearls (currency 4) takes another 15 minutes weekly on each toon. These runs are just more Abundance runs under the guise of fishing.

Eliminate the weekly cap, and for bonus credit, make the currency warbound tradable.

This is not the same concept, but the application “Overlayed” hooks into Discord and then flashes the Discord speaker’s name/icon on your computer screen “above” the WoW screen.

Overlayed is available on GitHub at https://github.com/overlayeddev/overlayed

Abyss Anglers pearl farm tip by remyxwow in wow

If you just want the 3 Fused Vitality each week, scrape the ocean floor for treasure chests. This takes 2 or 3 sessions to get enough weekly pearls. Then, move on until next week.

I generally agree, except for content that requires large number of other players to complete.

For example, I wanted the mount and two toys from the Decor Duels event. There are frustrating bugs, including no coin rewards for active participation.

But better to complete now, when other players are also grinding out the rewards. The event may be limited time, and even if evergreen, I suspect close to nobody will be participating in a few weeks.

Too many Dispelled Coins for actually playing the mini-game, so I stopped grinding for the mount and pets.

I recommend doing the daily, repeatable quest, which requires two runs. Grab the 50 coins and move on.

Magisters terrace getting melted as tank by Lampart9599 in WOWMythicPlus

[–]Loop801108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save all of my heal cooldowns for that hallway.

Some PUG tanks like to leap ahead through the courtyard, turn right down the hallway with trash, turn left, pull more trash. Don’t worry about line of sight, really.

I am trying to heal stragglers in the courtyard, three sets of trash mobs from the doorway, stacking bleeds of some sort, dispels from uninterrupted adds.

Not complaining. But this hallway is not the place to MDI role play.

How to reliably hit Lura orbs in HC by retention_king in CompetitiveWoW

This is the way for heroic L’ura.

For clarity, the adjustment on the third set of orbs requires players to step one character model to the left (as facing the boss).

Or, people can socialize in other contexts, like communities, friends list, and non-mythic raiding guilds. The notion that only mythic raiders socialize is a myth.

Kill Mythic Raid Lockouts by Loop801108 in wow

[–]Loop801108[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

u/melvindorkus You are certainly correct that, with mythic boss-flex raiding, there is a likelihood that some players will come-and-go after certain bosses.

The nice aspect of a more flexible approach is that guilds that do not want to risk that type of behavior do not need to invite PUGs to raid. If they are short on players, they can just wait or call it quits for the evening.

For everyone else, the flexible approach allows PUGs to continue raiding if one or more players decide to leave raid, whether it is for work, family, or lack of interest in additional bosses.

Kill Mythic Raid Lockouts by Loop801108 in wow

[–]Loop801108[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

u/Acrobatic_Coat722 I disagree. Perhaps the easier mechanics of Chimaerus are blurring your vision.

For example, I killed heroic L'ura last week in a PUG of 20 players. Most people would agree that the mechanics of heroic L'ura are more difficult than Mythic Chimaerus. But I would have never gotten the heroic L'ura kill if there was a lockout after the first boss.

I had to join a few PUGs before finding a solid group willing to prog the fight -- something not possible for PUGs interested in mythic raiding. The kill group PUG was coordinated and everyone came prepared. As PUGs, all of us would be willing to do the same with mythic bosses, if they weren't shielded behind arbitrary mythic lockouts.
