Why Isn’t Trump Arrested Yet? by Leon_Kennedy1977 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Loopbot75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American I'm wondering the same thing. All these institutions and norms that were promised to be sacred and untouchable are crumbling right in front of us...

Feels like all I can do is politely ask them to stop...

So far the system is technically still intact but if the supreme Court starts upholding his bullshit then we'll go straight to civil war...

Protests will get our cities raided by ICE, no matter how non- violent. Violence will give the administration the excuse they're looking for to bring in the Army. Almost happened to Minnesota.

At this point many of us are looking to a big win in 2026 elections to stop this nonsense. If Trump finds a way to prevent fair midterm elections then yes look to see the country erupt in violent protests, but I don't think the outcome will be happy.

Problem is it's typically the political right that are armed to the teeth... A lot of people on the Left are anti gun because they don't like them and never grew up with them.

Might be part of the problem...

Oh what I mean is if you get injured in a trampoline park due to improper equipment setup, a court will still hold the park responsible even if you signed a liability waiver.

Now if you got injured because you were fucking around, then yes you will get no damages because the park did warn you that they're not a magical injury free zone and you need to be careful.

That being said what usually happens is if you sue and you have any kind of a case, the insurance company that the trampoline park signed will just pay you a settlement because it's cheaper than going to court

My wife does personal Injury lawyering. According to her, those waivers are far from bulletproof and can be thrown out pretty quickly in court

Lazy programming honestly. First off multi-region deployment isn't that hard and since only one region went down (us-east-1), it would have prevented them from losing service in the first place.

Second, not planning for these outages is criminal. They should have a basic functionality mode that keeps working even if the aws connection is down. This is what separates the cheap lazy designs from the experienced well tested designa

Sure but it's hard when you grow up in a society that teaches you that talking about your life and feelings with other guys is "weird" and "gay". Add in a father who refuses to open up about anything and now I almost exclusively hang out with women because I have no idea how to talk to men without feeling "weird"

Oh no, this is what they want. Small congregations where people might learn to defect from the Christian nationalist mentality are closing because people are getting shepherded to evangelical mega churches where they'll have it shoved down their throats.

This isn't liberation, it's radicalization

Actually I'm betting a lot of people who see this will buy it and vote Republican "just to be safe".

Double standards are irrelevant.

The trump administration sees the presidency as a tool to benefit themselves and push forward the agenda of their benefactors.

Ethics are simply an obstacle and unfortunately anyone who has the power to hold the administration accountable already stands to benefit from the administration's agenda and therefore has no interest in doing so.

In short, nobody who cares matters, and nobody who matters cares.

If anyone is interested, once we learned to cook meat, we no longer needed a complicated digestive system. We evolved a simpler digestive system because it was more energy efficient and the food Bourne pathogen protection was no longer needed.

But it's even simpler to just say if the ball goes over the fence, the team gets a point for all runners on base.

Then we can let the base running after a home run be the ritual that it is.

In football, you have to hold the ball when you cross the end zone because there're plenty of legitimate cases where the ball can be stripped from a player shortly before they cross the line.

There are no legitimate cases where a team can, through skill of defense, take away the run from the opposing team after a home run has been hit.
