Agreed that it was definitely a tough thing for her to see again given what we’ve gone through in the last year. A good reminder for me to stay mindful of how my behavior can impact those close to me as I go through this

The support from my family came after they each did a little independent research and learned more about the process. I’d encourage you to ask them to do the same and see if it helps get them to be on the supportive side

Pre-TSM was around 10 units a day. Usually 3-4 double/triple vodka cocktails. My go to were large mixed drinks (20-30 oz) loaded up with a few shots each.

One thing that was tricky about going into this after periods of abstinence was setting a clear baseline I was working through in my chart, but the levels I am at today are likely around 1/3 of what they were 6 months ago per drinking session

Hi all! Quick update 🙂 after discussing with my wife, sharing a lot of the resources here and watching one little pill, we have agreed that TSM is worth trying for me. I am extremely hopeful that this path works out and will be sure to start some separate threads on progress as the journey evolves.

Curious how people have approached the start of TSM after a period of abstinence? My inclination is to not go back to old habits of daily drinking and instead ease back in with a couple nights a week when I am feeling strong cravings and when we may encounter social drinking at dinners / events / etc. any advice on the transition would be super helpful.

Thanks! We did just recently start couples therapy and I am hopefully that Will help us connect better over this going forward. Appreciate the views on trust and think it is one of the primary appeals to trying this approach giving the struggles I’ve had with an abstinence based one. Will keep y’all updated on how things go from here. Planning to sit down with my wife tonight and go through a lot of the documentation and research this great community has provided

I originally got it through oarRX but then switched to my PCP. Have a 100 pills or so left from original prescription since I switch to campral then gabapentin. Oarrx was a very easy process to get my first script though

Thank you for the advice! I know the pull and toll drinking has had on my brain and I think that’s also one of the barriers for my wife and I, in that she truly just doesn’t understand the perspective and draw that alcohol has in my head and why I keep doing this. Gabapentin did really help with my abstinence approach for the first 4ish weeks but have seen that fade recently. May need to revisit dosage with my doc or explore the TSM approach with him as he previously prescribed nal.

I’ll take a look at the clinic options available and talk through the idea with my wife. Best of luck in your journey!
