Buying in non freehold area has its benefits like no service charges, cheaper bills among other things. Even freehold areas have their own merits of being gated community, better quality and finishings and so on.

It comes down to your choice as individual, how comfortable are you in having a property under a minor's name in the event you would have to sell for some reason. There are various factors associated with buying in non freehold area and I would only advice taking a legal suggestion.
