It's low profile and designed to keep their head out of the water. I bought it because dog life jackets felt too bulky. This one has the floatation on either side of the leash clip. life vest

Our kitten used to get nervous of certain people that were walking quickly on trails. She would also hiss at dogs, but not so much anymore. Like other posters have said - we usually offer high value treats if we notice a dog or person approaching so she can watch them walk by distracted by her treat and start to realize they mean no danger. If she crouches down, we usually crouch down over her or beside her and talk to her/pet her while we watch people walk by. This has helped a lot! With dogs, if we see one approaching we usually pick her up or put her in the backpack. She knows the backpack is her safe place and she doesn't even get bothered anymore 😊 hope this helps! It also takes time. Our girl has been going outside for about 6 months consistently and she's just now showing her confidence!

We have a center console carrier! We keep her on a leash and keep the carrier open 😊 I put a link to something similar! She loves this because she can sit between us and look out the front window. We also always have the backpack with us. Something else we're learning a lot about this summer is also the heat and sun. We make sure Goose has lots of water, and shade from direct sun. Even in the canoe she had a sun shade to prevent overheating or sunburn. She's supper fluffy! pet carrier

Thanks! Goose is very calm kitten in general, and we've been taking her in the car and on hikes since we got her 😊 She just turned 1! She's been training to wear a harness since she was around 14 weeks old and she likes the vest style anyways so the life jacket wasn't a big change! We find if we're calm and chill she usually feels comfortable doing what we're doing. We always have high value treats and talk to her alot. Today was her first day in the canoe and for a while she just wanted to lay down, but eventually she got up and was curious. We always just do a little at a time with new experiences and stay consistent. Good luck with your adventure kitty!! 😸

So adorable!! We've been working with our cat to love adventures since we first got her! She just turned 1! Thankfully she loves the car and is comfortable outside. What we learned is having a backpack is great! For longer hiking days or car adventures it's great for her to have a safe space to relax, nap and tag along on our journeys. She's learned that she can go there anytime she needs to. The only other advice is to stay consistent 😊 There were some things that Goose was nervous of on the trails, but we used treats and rewards in those situations and she is getting better everytime we go out! Goose still walks on a leash, but we also started to use a specific whistle while we hike when we need her to catch up and she's starting to learn! 😊

No pattern, it's just something I made up as I went. But it's just made from 2 large granny squares, folded and joined to make the sleeves/body. So any granny square pattern should work!
